again

after a year, the two had moved on.

~

she was a successful overseas student.

he was again the start player on the school's basketball team.

~

he wondered about her from time to time.

~

if she remembered him...

if she was doing well...

~

but today, she was back.

it was her summer vacation and she had flown back to korea.

she decided to visit a coffee shop she really loved.

~

he decided to go out for coffee that day.

he listened to music the entire time and focused on his phone.

~

she was intrigued by her new book she had brought along with her.

~

"(y/f/d)."

~

"thank you."

two voices chorused, as the drink order was read out.

two hands reached for the same cup.

two pairs of eyes met.

~

"(y/n)?"
"sam?

~

she gave him the same smile he had grown so much to love, and forgot how much he missed.

~

he blushed and smiled back.

she recognized the nervous habit he had while he hand his hand through his hair and bit his bottom lip.

~

"what are you doing back here?"

"summer break... i missed it here."

"it's nice seeing you again."

"yeah. it's been a long time..."

~

her heart beat faster and faster as he smiled widely and looked at his feet.

they got their orders and began talking again.

awkwardly... but they were talking.

~

"could we spend the day together? you know... to catch up?"

~

samuel almost had a heart attack but managed to stutter out a yes.

~

there was a fair in town.

~

it seemed like déjà vu to (y/n).

it seemed too familiar.

~

he won her a prize and they played a bunch of games, simply enjoying each other's company.

it was as if they were never apart.

~

"sam, can we go on the ferris wheel?"

"sure."

~

they sat close beside each other and he held her hand.

~

"(y/n)?"

"yeah?"

"don't hate me for this."

"for what-"

~

he kissed her.

~

it all came flooding back to her.

everything.

~

she pulled away and he frowned.

~

"sorry. i shouldn't have done that. it was stupid and like i know you barely remember-"

~

she shut him up the same way she confessed.

with a kiss.

~

"samuel. you talk to much. and way to recreate our first date."

his eyes widened.

"i remember idiot."

~

he hugged her tightly.

"my girl is back..."

~

maybe happily ever after does exists.

it isn't too cliché after all...
