Chapter 9: She's Okay?

Scotty's P.O.V (surprise)

It hurt seeing my best friend beat himself down. It was like someone stabbed me in the heart over and over again, but I didn't die. I just watched him hit a brick wall. A fucking brick wall! I don't know how he wasn't in pain from it.

Toby came out of the hospital to tell David Liza was okay. Her heart stopped for half a minute. They said the worst thing it could have done, was scare people. We were all relieved she was okay, but we were worried something would happen to David.

David has been asleep for 5 hours now. Liza was awake and knew what happened. She has been in the corner on a hospital bed for an hour. As soon as she found out what happened, she wanted to be here.

Every kid as in, Kayden, Kaitlyn, Toby, Ester, Sarah, and Beth, were taken home. The only one out of all of them who know what is going on, is Toby. He might be 11, but he is hella smart.

We are currently all sitting in David's room when I saw he started to toss and turn in his sleep. I stood up and walked over to him. He had tears streaming down his face and was mumbling the word 'no' a lot. I put my hands on his shoulders and he kept crying. Everyone started to leave because they didn't know what to do. I was happy they were leaving. David and I need to have a one on one talk about how he needs to calm down.

After a minute, he opens his eyes and looks at me confused.

S-"David, it was a dream. You were crying and talking in your sleep, so I had to wake you up."

D-"I-Is she alive? Liza, is she okay?"

S-"David, she's fine. Her heart stopped for half a minute. As soon as she found out what happened with you, she made them take her here. She is asleep in the bed over there."

I saw him let out a long breath he seemed to be holding in. I couldn't blame him for worrying about her. If something like this happens to Kristen, I would be worse than David. And that is saying something.

David's P.O.V

She's okay. She's okay. I kept repeating those 2 words over and over again in my head, but I didn't seem to believe them. It's weird.

I look over at a sleeping Liza hooked to some machines. Why do we always end up in the hospital? I wouldn't be shocked if the doctors and nurses knew our names by now.

I sighed and lied back in the bed. I slowly closed my eyes as Scotty made his way out of the room.

I smiled, over the fact our lives aren't perfect. They never were, they never will be. We aren't perfect. We never were, we never will be.

Things always have reasons behind them. This reason, happened to pull us together. Everything that has happened in the past, led to where we are.

Happily married.

Happily in love with each other and our kids.

And making the next 5 months go by quickly.

Everything always, and I mean always, has reasons behind them.

My reasons, are the best I could have ever received.

Because she's okay.

Okay.
