Chapter 38: I Was Wrong

Kailtyn's P.O.V

I was cuddled up in my bed, surrounded by my blankets, until I woke up to people screaming and yelling. I opened my eyes and sat up. I looked around and realized Liam wasn't next to me like he was when we both fell asleep. I looked at the clock on my bedside table and my eyes widened.

2:28am

Not even a minute later, Kayden came running into my room. He had a worried look on his face as he walked over to my bed.

KT-"Kayden, where's Liam?"

KD-"I just woke up to screaming and yelling. I came to see if you were okay and you didn't have anything to do with it."

I was hesitant at first, but I had to ask the question that was on both of our minds.

KT-"Kayden, where's Liam?"

KD-"I think he's downstairs with Elliot, fighting."

We were both silent until we heard something crash. Kayden looked alarmed at the noise and I jumped up from my bed. I pulled down Liam's shirt that I was wearing and slipped on a pair of short shorts. I looked at Kayden with worry as he grabbed my hand.

We bolted down the staircase and into the living room. I saw Liam with anger all over his face and Elliot the same way.

I gripped onto Kayden's hand tighter as I looked at them. They obviously didn't know we were here so they continued yelling.

EL-"I am not leaving without you!"

LM-"I'm not going with you!"

EL-"Liam, you are coming back to West Virginia with me whether you like it or not!"

LM-"I have a life here! You cannot take me away from here!"

EL-"Our parents don't give a shit about you! Why would you want to stay?!"

Tears were building in my eyes as I watched them fight. I looked up at Kayden for a second and saw he had tears in his eyes as well. I looked back to Liam and Elliot as they started yelling again.

LM-"I have my girlfriend and my best friend here! Their whole family loves me more and has been there more than you or our parents!"

EL-"You rather stay with them and live near the people who were never there for you or stay with your older brother who you haven't been with in years?!"

LM-"Exactly! I haven't seen you in years! Our parents may not care, but at least the twins have been there for me! I love hanging out with Kayden and being here everyday to be shown love and support by Kaitlyn and Kayden's parents!"

I was a little shocked by Liam's words. Even more by the words that came out of his mouth next.

LM-"Kaitlyn is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me! I have been in love with her for nine fucking years! I finally got to be with her this year and now you are going to take me away! You can't fucking mess up this for me! I lost too much already! I can not lose Kaitlyn! I love her more than mom! I love her more than dad! I love her more than Kayden! I love her more than you! I will always love her more than anybody! Because unlike you, she has been there for me every step of the way! She is the only thing that is keeping me from killing myself!"

My heart broke as I heard what he said last. I latched onto the Kayden's arm as tears started to fall down mine and Kayden's cheeks. I knew he was crying, only because I was.

EL-"You love her more than Claire?!"

Elliot pushed it. Elliot went past the limit and I could see it on Liam's face.

Liam had anger all over his face as he launched himself at Elliot. They started to throw punches at one another and things started to break as they fell off the table in the center of the living room when they bumped into it.

I started to cry more when Kayden broke away from me to break up the fight. I watched as Kayden tore Liam off of Elliot. Kayden pushed Liam away from his brother and held him back. I watched in fear at the sight in front of me.

After a minute, Liam calmed down and was no longer fighting the grasp he was in by Kayden. Elliot stood up and looked around at his surroundings. His eyes landed on my tear stained face and he showed no emotion. His face was blank as if he never once cared about me or Kayden.

Elliot looked back at Liam and Kayden with anger on his face.

EL-"Am I going back with or without you? And you'll stay here with that little bitch and her brother."

LM-"Without. I never want you to come fucking near me again. You obviously never once cared about the twins. You put on an act just so you can have me back in your life. I don't want you anywhere near my girlfriend and her family ever again. Stop messing with people with your little show you put on. I thought you actually were the nice Elliot, not the one who would play around with people just so you could have me all to yourself."

I was now shaking as I heard every single word that left Liam's mouth. My face was over run with tears.

EL-"You're right. I never cared about them. I never will!"

Elliot picked up his bag and walked straight out the front door, slamming it behind him. I jumped in my spot as he did so. Liam looked at the door with an angry look then stormed up the steps. Not even a minute later I heard another door slam. I jumped once more at the sudden noise.

I looked over at Kayden who had the same look and tear stains on his face. Kayden walked quickly over to me and picked me up. I wrapped my arms around his neck as I cried onto his bare shoulder.

We stood there for who knows how long.

I cried and cried as I thought about everything.

I am a very sensitive person when it comes to Liam and family. I thought Elliot and Liam were going to be happy and hang out a lot.

I was wrong.

Elliot and Liam both put their feelings out. Liam said he was in love with me for nine years. I thought it was only a year.

I was wrong.

I thought Liam loved his brother more than me and I hoped he did.

But guess what,

I was wrong.

I closed my eyes tightly and listened to the three words echoing one another in my head.
