Chapter 12: The Worst Birthday

Kaitlyn's P.O.V

I woke up and felt a very tough pillow underneath me. Just kidding, I know it's Liam. I am not stupid and think the guy I fell asleep next to, is a pillow like all the basic clichés. I slowly flutter my eyes open and see Liam still shirtless asleep. He looked adorable honestly.

I was more snuggled up on him and I realized his hand was right on my ass. My face heated up with a blush rising as I hid my head in the crook of his neck. Liam still smells amazing. I sound like a stalker.

After minute, I could tell he woke up because I heard him quietly laughing. My guess was at me.

KT-"Are you laughing at me or the fact your hand is on my ass?"

I lifted my head to see his face was bright red. I laughed and crawled off of the bed. I looked over at the clock to see that it was noon. Damn, I took a 4 hour nap. I call that successful. I look over at Liam to see him pulling his white shirt back on.

LM-"What time is it?"

KT-"Noon. When did you fall asleep?"

LM-"Around 5 minutes after you did."

I nodded my head and walked out of my room. I passed Nathan's room when I heard coughing. I peeked my head in the door to see Nathan coughing like crazy with my mom beside him.

KT-"Mom, is he okay?"

My mom and Nathan turned towards me as Liam stood next to me in the doorway.

L-"Yeah, a bug is going around at his school and he caught it. But you guys can still have your party tonight."

I nodded my head and left while mumbling how this was the worst birthday ever. I made it to the island in the kitchen with Liam behind me and leaned on the counter with my head in my hands. First, I have an anxiety attack. Second, Nathan gets sick. Now, I wonder what will happen next.

LM-"You know, this isn't the worst birthday ever. Remember when you were 8 and Nathan sat on your cake. He may have been like 6 months old, but that was hilarious. You were crying because it was your favorite."

I looked up at him with a 'seriously, that doesn't make me feel better' look. He dropped the smile that was on his face and stood next to me.

KT-"I am so not ready for this party tonight."

I groaned then made my way to the fridge. While I was looking through all of the food, I heard heels clicking on their way to the kitchen. I looked over to see my mom in a fancy outfit and raised an eyebrow. Liam looked just as confused when he saw her.

L-"I have to go to Tyler Perry's new movie premiere. It's the one that you all didn't want to see. Watch Nathan while I'm gone and don't fall asleep again."

With that said, my mother left. Who has a movie premiere in the middle of the day? I sighed and closed the fridge. Liam was looking at me with a blank expression the whole time.

KT-"Can I help you?"

LM-"No, but I have to leave. I have to go get your brother's birthday present. So, bye Kait."

KT-"Bye."

I definitely feel the love from him. Note the sarcasm. He got me a present last year. I shouldn't complain though since he did spend the whole morning with me.

As he walked out the front door, I walked back up the steps. I saw Nathan asleep on his bed with his T.V on. I walked into his room and turned it off. I closed the door as I left then continued my way to my room. I grabbed my phone that was on the nightstand and scrolled through the millions of notifications.

The last notification caught my eye. I swiped on the notification and almost died of embarrassment.  

Thought you would want to see this.

With a picture of me cuddled up with him as my hand was rested on his bare chest. I groaned and fell onto my bed. My face heated up from the embarrassment at the fact my ass was slightly out. As in my freaking shorts need to do a better job!

I went through the messages from Avery and Kayden then turned on Netflix. I watched around 4 episodes of Vampire Diaries by the time I heard the front door open. Not even a minute later, Kayden bursts into my room making me jump in my spot.

KD-"Kaitlyn, are you okay?"

KT-"Yeah, Liam was here then left when mom went to the premiere leaving a sick Nathan in my hands."

KD-"Well, this is the second worst birthday ever. The first was definitely when Nathan sat in our cake."

KT-"Liam used that same example earlier."

KD-"We are like twins."

KT-"Really? Says MY twin."

Kayden laughs then walks out the door. I was about to get up to get ready, but Kayden came back into my room.

KD-"Is that my shirt?"

KT-"Duh. I borrow your shirts and sweatshirts all the time."

KD-"Do you return them?"

KT-"Yeah. That's why you haven't noticed."

He laughed then left. I stood up and went to my closet.

KT-"Time to get ready for my party."

I squealed while looking for my dress.

KD-"It's my party too!"
