Chapter 18: The Escape

Chapter 18 (Nikcole's P.O.V.)

Its been two days. Ive tried talking to Stephen through the link but i feel a dark wall between it i hear bits and pieces Jace's voice, his office and i tire myself out trying to speak to him since the bond is almost gone. That's what has helped me fall asleep these past two days. My morning route Tyler comes and gives me some Froot Loops (his favorite so i have no choice). He just watches me eat trying to make sure i wont attempt to escape.

I feel him watching me, but when i look up he turns away just as fast. His aura is still a hot pink. I was watched at all times to and from the bathroom but its impossible to escape from a windowless bathroom underground. Skylar hasn't failed her task to make the stay more like hell. She comes in squats down and smiled wickedly at me. 

This morning is no different Ive been getting up early scared she'll try to kill me in my sleep. She walked in with evil grace if that's possible in her gladiator sandals, flower pattern skirt and white tank top that was covered her pale blond hair cascading down. I wanted to spit in her face. I felt dirty. I was sure my makeup was smeared all over my face, my dress was now torn and dirty, my curls had fallen out yesterday to sum it up i felt like shit next to her, at least she got to shower. 

"Hey there." She spat. I just stared at him angerly who the hell did she think she was kidnapping people?

"Morning crazy bitch." I smiled. That earned me a good slap across my face. Ive gotten used to it by now she was the only one who hit me, Tyler didn't put a finger on me since i tried to leave. I still don't understand as to why he is being kind to me but i didn't question it.

"Don't call me that, if there's a bitch here its you." She snarled.

"Takes one to know one right?" I know i just called myself a bitch but she deserved it. Which got me another hard slap across my face. Being a wolf and all we are tough but i haven't shifted or hunted so I'm weak.

"You really shouldn't insult the one who decides your fate."

"Death my be better than your awful hell of a presence."  Well there goes the last of my right cheek.

"You shouldn't be speaking like that little Nikcole I know your time is almost up." She smiled evilly. 

Shit. That was all i could repeat in my head over and over.She knew. She knew it was almost over. I had three weeks. My Mate hasn't claimed me and if he doesn't within the next three weeks i die. And she knew that.

"I take it by your silence you know EXACTLY what in talking about my dear." She got up in my face i was tied up so i couldn't hit her so i did the next best thing: i spit in her face. She stumbled back grossed out wiping her face. She left her hand up again. I close my eyes and turn away and waited for the slap that never came. I open my eyes and saw a pair of pants in front of me.

"That's enough Sky." Tyler said calmly.

"She SPAT in my face!!." She screeched.

"If you were smart you wouldn't get near her its obvious she doesn't like you so stop punishing her for shit that your dumasself could have avoided." 

I wasn't the only one who was shocked Skylar's jaw practically dropped to the floor.

"Why are you defending her Ty?! She's our problem!! We hate her!!" She screeched in outrage at her brother. He rolled his eyes and walked out the door. "

Its your turn for groceries." He said bluntly. I heard the screeching of metal against tile and he dragged a chair through into the room and sat down, bent over looked at his hands.
