Nouns
- are names of persons, animals, places, things, events or ideas

- the term noun came from the Latin word nomen which means name

Three kinds of nouns :
common nouns
proper nouns
collective nouns

1. Common Nouns
- refer to a kind of person, place, or thing
- general names
- begin with small letter

Examples :

1.1 Count Nouns
- can be counted by using numeral
- it have singular and plural forms

1.2 Noncount / Mass Nouns
- do not have plural forms

- name of persons, places, or things that can be seen, heard, smelled, tasted, or touched

- name of ideas, emotions, qualities, and processes that cannot be seen, heard, smelled, tasted, or touched
