Most newspapers have three parts:

1. FRONT PAGE
- gives the most important news of the day in bold letters

a. Nameplate / banner - the name of the newspaper is placed on the top of the page together with its logo

b. Special Feature - an article which is special (seasonal or historical)

c. Weather Report

d. Important news of the day

2. INSIDE PAGES
a. Foreign and Local News
Foreign News - feature news about events and incidents from the other countries
Local news - contain news about events and incidents in the country

b. Editorial Page - gives opinion on the most significant news items of the day
- where the editor of the newspaper gives his views about important events

c. Columns and Letters to the Editors - are regular features by known writers and comments / suggestions / letters from readers

d. Sports Page - features the updated events in the field of sports
- features happening different sports events here and abroad

e. Business Section
- gives information on what is happening in the business world;
- includes market stock exchange;
- the rate of the peso and others matters about business and trade

f. Advertisement / Classified Ads Portion - gives information on job opportunities
- contains announcements of forthcoming programs/projects or launching of products or shows
- also includes the promotion of products for consumer information

3. ADDITIONAL PAGES
a. Feature Article Section - often made up write-ups on tourists spots, home beautification, health and cooking tips, and personalities

b. Comics Section - composed of illustrated stories mostly of cartoon characters
- contains cartoon characters and aims to entertain

c. Shipping Section - informs the public of scheduled trips by the different shipping companies and news about the industry

d. Obituaries Section - shows/announces the names of people who died
- those whose death anniversaries are being remembered and those whose interment dates are scheduled

e. TV Programs Portion - includes schedule of programs and their channels

f. Cinema Page / Movie Section
- publishes advertisements on movies in the different theaters and schedule of shows on TV
- features films' titles and the movie houses exhibiting them, reviews on specific movies and news about movie stars
