Cameron's POV
I waited anxiously in the back of the car for us to get to the safe zone. They had explained how at first they had 10, but due to infections, it's been cut back to 1 big one at the dodgers stadium. Finally we pulled up and I rushed from the car. Nash was hot on my heels but heather lingered behind. We made our way to the sign in and checked to see if our families were here.
"Names?" the lady asked.
"The Grier family and Dallas family" I answered. She flipped through a clipboard full of papers.
"Dallas, here we are.... I'm not seeing a Grier though." She sighed. Nash's face lost all color and his usually electric blue eyes had faded to grey.
"Nash I am..." I started speaking.
"Oh wait! here they are! sorry for the scare sonny" she apologized. A look of relief washed over him as his body relaxed. Heather found her way over and gave us a questioning look.
"Both our families are here," Nash smiled.
"Great," she returned the smile but not as happily as Nash's. it was up to us to find them now. We decided to start from the top and work our way down so we climbed the stairs to the top level. We searched for an hour and it seemed hopeless. Finally heather called us over. We hastened our pace to where she was and she pointed two rows down. I saw my mom holding Skylynn while Nash's dad cleaned a pan.
"Mom!" I yelled. She looked up and gasped in surprise. Mr.Grier had also looked up and dropped the pan. Our families ran up to us and pulled us in. Sky was wrapped around Nash's leg and wouldn't let go.
"What happened to you guys?!" my sister asked.
"Long story short, we hid out in an abandoned mall for a while," I told them. I didn't feel like going into detail right now.
"Heather, I saw that your parents are in town. did you know?" Nash's brother, Hayes, asked.
"Yeah, actually we ran into them before coming here," she replied. He nodded and turned his attention back to us. Heather walked off in a different direction, not sure where she was going.
"She okay?" my mom asked.
"A lot has happened. I think she will be fine" I sighed.
"I hope so, such a sweet girl. I always kinda hoped you two would get together," mom winked. Nash tensed up and looked away. I chuckled awkwardly and told them I was going to check on her. I followed the path she took until I saw something I didn't like..... heather was in the arms of Jackson...he was holding her like a lifeline, like there was no tomorrow. Jealously filled my body but I decided to just walk away. she had made it clear that she didn't want me anymore. That's when I walked into trouble. Karyn smiled up at me with an evil grin.
"Hey Cammy baby, I've missed you," she said in her high pitched voice.
"Uh hi, glad to see you made it," I tried smiling. I saw heather coming our way with Jackson and Anna, except she was holding Jackson's hand. I did something I didn't want to... I pulled Karyn into a kiss. She kissed back instantly and snaked her arms around my waist and slipped her hands into my back pockets. I heard heather scoff as she walked by. I pulled away and looked at Karyn who had a sly smirk on her face.
"Glad you've finally come around Cammy, we can have some real fun here," she whispered into my ear before walking off. My stomach did a flip... and not in a good way.
