Chapter 42

Heather's POV

That night after everyone left my party, Cameron stayed with me. My father and mother were arguing again over something. I don't know if I should tell her. Cameron was playing with Prince at the end of my bed. They're so cute. Cameron noticed me staring.

"What?" he asked smirking.

"You guys are adorable... my prince and my king," i laughed. He laughed along with me and crawled up to where i was laying. He placed his lips on mine and the sparks flew like it was the first time. We stopped when we heard a faint knock at my door before my mother came in.

"Sorry to interrupt but I um have something to tell you Heather" she mumbled.

"Ill give you two a moment," Cameron cleared his throat. My mother patted him on the back when he passed her.

"Your father and I have decided to take a little break from each other." She announced. My stomach did a flip.

"I'm so sorry... this is my fault," I cried.

"No it's not, I should have left him the first time he wanted to send you away. I was just so caught up on being an up and coming scientist. You're so much more important to me. He and I are too different." She sighed.

"I um... I was going to tell you tomorrow but... Cameron and I saw him kissing some woman during the party in his office," I frowned. Her face fell.

"I should've guessed it. Thank you for telling me" she half smiled.

"Of course mom. I love you," I told her.

"I love you too," she replied.

"You and me, mom" I whispered.

"You and me," she smiled. "And Cameron of course,"

"And Cameron," I laughed. Prince barked and wagged his tail. "Aww how could we forget you?" He jumped into my arms and licked my face.

"Want me to make some popcorn and you and Cameron can watch a movie?" mom asked.

"Sure, thanks," I smiled. Cameron came back in and we snuggled under the blanket.

"Everything okay?" he asked.

"It will be,"
