Heather's POV

It's been a year since I moved in with my parents. I haven't told my mom about what my dad said, but I hear them fighting about it at night when they think I'm asleep. Most nights I just sneak out and go to Cameron's house. We are still together and it's going great. Nash has a girlfriend now and she's super nice and funny, just like him. Things are going pretty okay, I just can't help but feel that I'm causing all of the tension between my mom and dad.

"Honey can you help with the groceries?" my mom yelled up from the foyer.

"Sure!" I yelled back. I hurried out to the car and grabbed the remaining things and brought them into our kitchen. "What's all this for? there's more than usual"

"You didn't forget did you? oh my gosh! you did!" she gasped.

"What......" I mumbled confused.

"Your birthday party is tonight!" she squealed happily.

"Isn't my birthday next week?" I asked although I already knew the answer. duh.

"Yeah but your father and I have a work trip so we won't be here, we decided to throw one tonight." She answered smiling. I have her smile. I don't even think my dad has one.

"And by we you mean you," I sighed.

"Honey, he's just stressed. It's been a lot on him." she said.

"Yeah okay, well I'm going to go get a new outfit for the party, is that ok?" I asked.

"Sure!" She replied. I grabbed my wallet and keys and went to my car. I called Cameron and asked if he wanted to go so I went and picked him up.

"Hey babe," he said hopping into my car. I kissed his cheek and headed to the store. "What do you need a dress for?"

"The party tonight," I sighed.

"Oh yeah! I almost forgot," he laughed it off awkwardly.

"It's ok I did too," I chuckled. I parked the car and we walked into a boutique. I grabbed 5 dresses to try on and went into the dressing room.

The first one was a blue strapless cocktail dress, kinda plain. Cameron said no.

The next was green, knee length, and had lace sleeves. Cameron liked it so we added it to the maybe list.

The next was black, a bit longer than the last one. It had a sparkly top and was strapless. It had a white ribbon around the waist. Cameron's lips twitched into a smile. "Yes," was all he could say. I smiled and brought it up to the register. $200.... that's a lot but not to my parents. I decided to get my hair done as well. It was pretty long now so I cut it to just below my shoulder blades and had the bottoms curled. I think my look is complete. Now I just have to survive the night.

"I need to go home to get ready, ill see you tonight though. I love you," cam said kissing me quickly.

"Bye, I love you too," I replied. I went home and my father was in the living room with his nose in a book. He didn't even bother to look up. What an ass. Can't wait till the party, maybe he will actually pretend to like me.
