Chapter 14

Heather's POV

I crawled out of bed trying not to wake Anna. I looked around and everyone was asleep except Cameron, his bed was empty. I thought I saw something on his pillow and I went over to get a closer look. I picked up a note.

             Guys, Im sorry but I had to go. I think I am just hindering your survival. Don't worry about me though, Im going to get a car started and try to find my way to the city. Maybe join up with our families. Stay safe guys. I love you, I hope we see each other again some time after all this is over. -Cam

I gasped and ran over to Nash's bed. I shook him awake and shoved the note in his face. He read it and his eyes got big. I woke everyone else up except Karyn. I just didn't want to deal with her at this point.

"What are we gonna do?!" I asked frantically. Nash was pacing back and forth.

"I don't know, he could have made it to the city by now depending on when he left and if he found a car." he sighed.

"Or he could be hurt! or dead! we should go after him!!" I yelled. Jackson sat me down.

"You have to stay calm if we are gonna do anything," he said calmly. Karyn came over rubbing her eyes.

"Why are you yelling? where's cammy?" she asked.

"He's gone! So shut up and sit down!" I screamed.

"Ugh this is your fault. You made a big deal over him wanting me and not you, so he didn't want your drama and he left," she scoffed.

"HE DIDNT WANT YOU!!! THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO WANT YOU ARE THE CIRCUS CUZ YOU LOOK LIKE A CLOWN IN THAT MAKEUP!!!!" I screamed even louder. She just glared at me. Nash tried to put a hand on my shoulder but I shrugged away. I threw my fist at that fake nose of hers and heard a loud crack. She fell backwards with blood dripping down her face. I stood there holding my hand before storming off. If they weren't going to look for him then I was! Nash was following me close behind. He grabbed my arm and whirled me around so I was inches from him.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"To find our best friend" I snapped.

"It's not safe" he sighed.

"If its not safe for me then its not for him," I whispered. his eyes started watering.

"I know, lets get weapons and supplies and I will go with you, I don't want you to get hurt." he told me.

"Really? cuz you kinda seemed like you didn't even give a crap about me," I mumbled.

"I...Im sorry. Its just that I heard you talking with Cam and you said you may love me and it kinda freaked me out," he said quietly.

"Why would it freak you out?" I asked hurt.

"Cuz we haven't even been together for like 5 minutes,"

"I have known you for years, and I say I may love you, not that im picking out my bridesmaids dresses. and you're the one that came for me, not the other way around. So if you aren't okay with me thinking that I may love you then I don't know if we should even date." I said quickly.

"No....No...I don't want to lose you. I was just taken by surprise. Ive never had anyone love me like as a boyfriend." he whispered.

" I said I may love you! I haven't even said it yet!" I screamed with my voice cracking. He looked at me with pain in his eyes.

"Can we try? Like start over?" he questioned.

"We have to find Cameron," I sighed. We got supplies ready and told everyone to stay. We headed out towards the road. Nash kept quiet so it was awkward. the only words exchanged were asking if I needed to stop or which direction to go. This was gonna be hard. Those things were scattered so they were easy to kill but as we reached the highway we realized there were more....way more.
