Hiding Devils From Exorcists

Yesterday we arrived at our destination, Suguro's house. Seeing the sickness and disease in the anime is different than seeing it in person. I instantly tried to find something anything I could do to help. I was constantly buzzy but I didn't lose focus on making sure my new group doesn't find out the truth about my old one. I wish I could tell them but they already don't trust Rin partly because of his parentage. Telling them there is several powerful devils staying with them is not a good idea. I told them all not to use their powers no mater what and they seem to be following my rule.

I try to sleep, for the past two days I have been working nonstop. I haven't even taken so much as a lunch break. Eventually I fall asleep and wake up the next day and start over again. It's about lunch time when both Hojo and Shura walk up to me. Hojo puts his hand on my shoulder stopping me. "You should take a break. You have working hard without a break for days" he says. "Yeah ain't you tired?" Shura asks, obviously I have been working so hard that they thought they needed to both convince me to take a break. I look back at the house "But you guys still need help" I object even though I do feel weak.

Shura pushes me down onto the steps and tells me to stay. A few minutes later she returns with food and a drink. "You wont be much help if you pass out from exhaustion" she says handing me the food. Hojo nods and I sigh. I begin eating and when Hojo leaves I swallow my food and say to Shura "What would really help me relax would be a strong drink... could you help me with that?" I ask. She laughs and shakes her head "I'm pretty sue your too young to drink",

"What's the drinking age in Japan?" I ask innocently. "20" she replies. "Ah come on it's just two years!" I sit up straight "Holy shit it's two years!" she stares at me confused. I look at her "Today is my birthday" she raises her eyebrows. I cant believe I forgot my own birthday! In my defense it has been a very busy couple of months. "I think that this situation qualifies a chance for a drink" she says and comes back a few minutes later with a six pack. I open one and take a long drink. "Woah there! You might want to slow down" she says and sits next to me.

She take a drink from one of the cans. "So you forgot it was your birthday" she says and I nod. "So much has happened that I completely forgot that I'm now a legal adult" I reply taking another swig. This is the fifth time I've had beer, a few times I stolen some liquor from my mom. "What happened?" Shura asks pulling me back to the present. I already have an answer "I found out my parentage and I needed to get away from all the fake people in America. I also needed to learn a new language and customs to start a new life" I reply.

"That's...a lot" she says and I nod "Who are your parents?" she asks. I don't answer I cant help but remember my mother back in the 3D world. After a few minutes Shura changes the topic "How did you manage to get so many girlfriends?" she asks. I laugh "I have no idea but I cant imagine life without them nor, apparently, can they without me" I reply leaning back and finishing my can. I take another still smiling "You love them" she doesn't say it like it's a question more like a statement. I nod and she frowns.

"What about the guy do you love him too?" she asks elbowing me. "Issei? What? No!" I blurt and she laughs "He is the first real friend I have ever made" I say "I am eternally grateful" I finish. "I guess you can thank God for that" she says. I frown "No God is not as great as people make him out to be nor are angels" I say with scorn. "It sounds like you have experience with them" she says. I finish my food and beer quickly then stand up "Well I should get back to work". I avoid her for the rest of the day. I am settling down in my room, enough people are healthy that we can all have our own rooms, when the door opens. I close my eyes pretending to sleep discouraging anyone from disturbing my much needed sleep.

I feel a body crawling under the covers with me along with two more. "Hey Akeno, Iza-Chan, and Koneko" I say without opening my eyes. They only snuggle closer. I freeze trying to control myself. "What no blood?" Akeno asks scraping her teeth against my neck. "In this world blood doesn't come out of your nose when you see or experience something hot" I reply stiffly. "That explains why Issei hasn't loss any blood" Koneko says. Iza-Chan yawns and snuggles closer quickly falling asleep. A few minutes later I am the last to fall asleep. Before I know it it's morning and someone opens my door quickly.

I'm still blinking at the sudden light. I finally can see Rin and Shima standing in the doorway shocked. I sit up and look around realizing what this looks like. "It's not what it looks like!" I hold my heads. "So you didn't sleep with three beautiful girls?!" Shima exclaims. "They came in and we only got a few z's! I didn't do anything!" I testify. "Oh yeah? Then what's that?" Shima says pointing to my neck. I feel where he is pointing and feel the mark that Akeno must of left when she was teasing me.

"It's not what it seems! Akeno teased me but nothing happened!" I continue to testify my case hopelessly. "That's just as bad!" Shima yells. I look to Rin for support but see he isn't paying me any attention. He's looking at Akeno's wings which he can plainly see. I quickly cover them up and look at Shima. He doesn't appear to have noticed still yelling at me. I interrupt him "Ah can I get up and get ready?" I say pushing him out the door. I give Rin the one minute finger and quickly get ready and send the girls to heir rooms so they can get ready as well.

'Fuck! How am I going to explain this?!' I scream internally. I walk out of my room still thinking. Rin is outside waiting for me... maybe I am just being paranoid...."Why does she have wings?" Rin asks. 'So much for that hope'. I sigh "That's.... a difficult question to answer" I say truthfully. Can you explain it to me? Because those look like demon wings... and very few demons can have human bodies" he says. I continue to curse inside my head as I try to find an answer.
