Reality Shock

"What are yo guys doing here?!" I question them completely shocked. "We couldn't just stay there knowing that you were in trouble" Issei says. I stare at him then begin to laugh, I hug all of them. "I am so glad you guys care enough to come to help me" I say still laughing. I step back and look around. Nothing is different it's still the same as I remember. I look at my friends and I can finally see what they would look like in real life. Surprisingly they're not that different, other than coloring and a little more detail they are exactly the same.

"So where are we?" Rias asks looking around and at us all. She looks surprised by her transformation. "This is the world in which the idea of you was created.... where you were created.... this is my home world" I say. I'm surprised by how much I missed this world. I hated this place I hated everyone but my mom. I turn to the Goddess "Can I visit her?" I ask hoping she world say yes. She nods and I rush to my house, I still know the way even though it's been so long and so much has happened.

I reach the front door of my house and stop. 'Maybe I shouldn't do this.... it's not like she would remember me anyways' I shake my head. If I don't do this I will regret this for the rest of my life. It doesn't matter if she doesn't remember me she is still my mom. The women who raised me by herself. The woman who believed in me even when I didn't. I take a deep breadth and knock on the door. The door opens and I see my mother she is just like I remember except for the bulge in her stomach. 'She must be nine months pregnant' I observe.

Looking into her eyes I can see her eyes grow cloudy then clear several times. Her eyes clear a final time and she hugs me. Her hug is warm and loving I begin to cry and I can tell she is crying as well. "Mom.." I whisper hugging her closer. "Devin..." she says pulling me back to get a good look at me. "You've changed so much since I last saw you" she observes. I wipe my eyes and smile "So much has happened since then. It looks like I missed a lot as well" I say indicating her stomach.

She laughs "Yes I found someone and we are expecting a little girl any day now" she says rubbing her pregnant stomach lovingly. "Oh! That reminds me, let me introduce my friends" I say. "You have friends? A lot has changed" she says raising an eyebrow. I walk over to my friends and pull them over. "Mom these are my friends... Issei, Asia, Koneko, Akeno, Xenovia, Izanami-no-Mikoto and Rias" I say pointing each of them out "Everyone this is my mom". They all greet each other "So you are Devin's mom" Akeno says "I am Devin's fiancé" she says and I gape. Hopefully mom wont understand... yeah there is no way she could understand because my mom doesn't speak Japanese. I sigh in relief.

My moment of relief didn't last long. As soon as I saw they shocked look on my mothers face I knew she understood. I curse in Japanese "Devin! What have I told you about cursing?" she scolds me. "When did you learn Japanese?" I ask "I learned it when I was young and don't try changing the subject" she glares at me in a way that only moms can. "Why didn't you tell me she was your fiancé?" she asks. "I didn't tell you because she isn't my fiancé... she is one of my girlfriends..." I mutter that last part but moms hear everything.

"What do you mean by -one of my girlfriends-....?" she asks. I sigh and say "Mom I am dating Akeno, Koneko, and Izanami..." I say and they come up and stand by my side. Mom stares at me shocked. "Devin I need to speak with you" the Goddess said indicating for me to follow her. My mom talks with the girls.  "Don't forget why we are here" the Goddess says and I remember that everyone here is in trouble. "Tell me more about this enemy" I reply getting serious. "Your enemy is a man in his 20's. Many years ago he died and I offered the same choice to him as I did to you" she begins.

"The power he chose is similar to yours. He chose to have every power every villain in anime has had. As time went on and new villains were created he started getting more powerful. What I was too prideful to realize is that he was collecting power to rule all worlds both in anime and reality" she says and I groan. "This sounds like the plot of every standard superhero movie" I reply.  "It does but that's not the point. Somehow he has learned of you and is going to try to kill you. I tried to fight him but I... lost" she looks down in shame.

"I thought we were all doomed until I remembered you. You have the ability of every hero and every hero wins against the villain. You are the only one who can beat him.... that's all I know" she says looking down again. I put my hand on my chin and begin to think. 'This may be the most difficult thing I've had to do yet' I try to think of a plan but it's difficult when I don't even know what he looks like. Asking what he looks like will be pointless because some villains can shapeshift. Meaning he could look like anyone or anything. I sigh "OK here is the plan.... we will stay at my mothers and wait for him to make a move. If, as you say, he will try to kill me that means he will try to find me and perhaps draw me out." I explain.

The Goddess is about to object but in the end nods seeing the wisdom in my plan. Even so I can see that she is nervous and afraid. 'If she is scared that means we really are in trouble' I begin to worry. I go back to my moms house asking if we could stay for a little while. She agrees and we begin to move to our new rooms. I continue to worry through out the night.
