"I'm finally in Ba Sing Se." I say to myself looking around the safest city in history. "Arabella?" An old man came up to me holding a sheet of paper. I nod my head at him with a smile. "I'm here to take you to your house." He put his hand out to a carriage that was parked down the street. "My name is Bojing and welcome to Ba Sing Se."
"Your house is in the upper class, that's lucky madam." He looked over at me nodding. "Well, I got an invitation to the King's party that he's holding, and I don't really know why." I explain looking over at my worn bag. "That's magnificent. Maybe the King found out about you somehow."
"Well here's your house. It's small but you're the only person in it." He said walking me into the house. "The King also said that you could live here completely if you wanted." He gave me a scroll and another pass that had all my information on it if I wanted to stay here. "Thank you." He nodded his head before going out the door.
"This place looks more fit for a King than just one person." I say throwing my bag on chair before falling on the couch.
"If I'm going to this party, I need to find something nice to wear. Shopping, what joy." I sit up before grabbing my bag and walking out the door to the market.
The city streets were filled with many people buzzing along to their destination. The store I went into was quiet but not too busy. Looking through the racks, I found a simple golden dress with a green underlining. It also came with a headpiece to match the dress. 12 gold pieces for something made of a nice material is a fantastic deal.
"Is that all for you ma'am?" I nod my head at the clerk getting out 12 gold pieces and paying him. "Thank you." I smile putting the dress in my bag and zipping it up.
Walking down the street my stomach started to rumble. "I'm starving." I mumble looking up at the wall that broke apart the refuges from the higher up people.
Walking over to the entrance, I looked around at the other side of the wall. A tea shop? It looks nice enough. 'It also helps that I don't want to spend too much more today.'
Walking over toward the door, I go inside and look around to see quite a few people occupying the tables. 'This is either a cheap shop, or a good shop.' Sitting down at an empty table, a handsome came over to my table and looked at me, clearly bored. "What can I get for you?"
The guy had shaggy hair, yet it was neat and a scar on his left eye. "Jade tea." He nods his head before walking away. Butterflies started to form in my stomach as he came back "Enjoy."
Wait, where did these butterflies even come from? He is attractive, but gosh. "Is it alright if I join you?" The same guy asks with a cup of tea in his hand. "Sure." I say holding my hand out to the empty chair in front of me.
He sat down taking a sip of his tea while I did the same while examining him. "When did you come to Ba Sing Se?" I ask starting conversation. "Not too long ago. How long have you been here?" He asks looking up at me. "It's my first day here actually."
We sit in silence until I had finished my third cup and it started to get dark out. "Well it was nice meeting you, but I have to get going." I take out some gold pieces and put them on the table.
"What's your name?" I hear him ask as I get to the door. "Arabella. I'll see you around." I smile towards him before walking outside and towards the wall to start my long trek back to my temporary home. 'Maybe I should visit again soon.'
