I Can't Wait For Tomorrow

Alex's POV

Today was the best day EVER! Meeting Charlie and Taylor was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was terrified of what would happen today, what they would think of me. But things went ten times better than expected. I have two new friends that seem to like me a lot, and thanks to Charlie, I think I might have a shot with Taylor. I don't know how he does it. 

I pull my phone out of my pocket to see I have a LOT of new messages. 

Charlie: Hey Alex! Soooo how'd it go with Taylor?

Charlie: Alex.

Charlie: Alex answer your phone. 

Charlie: I swear if you have it on do not disturb I'm gonna kill you.

Charlie: HOW DARE YOU IGNORE ME! 

Charlie: Oh yeah I was gonna ask if you wanted to walk home with me since we live so close but I guess it's too late now. 

Charlie: Btw my address is 47 Mountain road, in case you forgot. Come over anytime you'd like, just let me know first. If you show up unexpected I might just be signing around my house in my boxers. 

I start to laugh so hard I almost trip on the sidewalk. Thankfully I didn't actually fall, if I told Charlie about that I would never hear the end of it. Once I calmed down I started to text him back.

LMAO! Ok don't get mad, but I may or may not have had my phone on do not disturb. Anyway I'd love to come over sometime, and you can come over anytime you want to, it's 104 Cambridge Road.

Charlie: Thx for the offer. I can't come over now, I have a few things my mom needs me to do. But I'll definitely show up at some time, idk when.

Sure, and if I'm singing around in my boxers make sure to knock.

Charlie: or I can come in and watch.

Pervert!

Charlie: Or maybe I'll bring Taylor with me...

SHUT UP CHARLIE!

Charlie: HAHAHA! 

Charlie: I have to go but I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Talk to you tomorrow then. Bye.

How is it possible to be unbelievable irritating and annoying and be super likable and nice at the same time. Charlie will forever remain a mystery.

I turn off my phone (after turning off do not disturb) and continue to head home. It wasn't long before I saw my house coming into view. I ran up to the front door, put in my key, unlocked the door and stepped inside. 

"Oh, Alex your home! Hello, sweetheart! So how was your first day?!" My mom calls out from the kitchen.

"Hey mom, today was amazing! I met my guide and he's really nice, we spent the whole day talking and walking around school. We have most of the same classes together too." 

Her face brightened up, "I'm so happy to hear that! So what do you think, about this year?"

"I think this school year is gonna be great," I say honestly.

"I'm so glad you feel this way!" She exclaims. 

"I'm gonna go to my room and get my things ready for tomorrow," I say trying to end the conversation. I love my mom but when she gets excited she gets very loud. 

"Oh ok, dad will be home soon and dinner will be ready at 6:30 probably. I'll call you down when it is okay?" she asks.

"Okay."
