Alex's POV
This weekend has been the best I've ever had so far. After me and Taylor's date on Saturday, I went home and luckily my parents didn't pester me about all the details. Sometime around 8 pm Taylor and I facetimed each other and talked for the next few hours. We then made plans to meet up the next day at her house. So, on Sunday I went over to her house and stayed there the majority of the day. We've only officially been dating for two days and yet I feel like this has been happening for months.
I thought for sure, nothing could ruin my mood. Then I remembered a certain loud gay friend of mine.
Normally, when a friend wants to know how a date went, the friend would wait until the next time we saw each other. Then we'd have a calm conversation about what happened. Nice and simple. Right? Wrong.
You see, the friend in this situation is Charlie. Nothing about him is simple. I expected to be spam texted after the date, but he didn't send one message. Sunday morning comes around, still nothing. So I thought he would wait until school... Oh boy was I wrong.
Apparently, I had left my phone in my room when I went downstairs to eat dinner. I just stepped back into my room, and I see that I'm getting a video call... from Charlie. Part of me doesn't want to answer, but I know he'll spam call me until I do. He might even run to my house.
I sigh knowing what is about to happen, then I answer it.
"Alex! Finally! Where have you been? Did you die and then just get revived or something?" he screams.
"No, I didn't die and get revived, I went to go eat dinner and didn't have my phone on me," I explained.
"Are you kidding me!" He pauses and takes an over dramatically deep breath in and out then says in a calmer voice, "It's alright, everything is fine."
Then in a suddenly much less calm voice (somewhat startling me) he says, "Tell me what happened!"
"Well, after my mom dropped us off at the sports center, Taylor and I walked in and went to the mini-golf course. She beat my ass."
"Yeah, she's the best at mini golf. Probably should've warned you about that. Oops."
That would've been good to know! I shoot him a mean look then continue.
"Anyway, after that we went to laser tag. That was really fun. We snuck around, took out a few kids, went to their base, I kissed her, and we ended up winning. Then we spent the rest of the time in the arcade." I say matter-of-factly. I'm hoping he didn't hear the part about kissing her.
"YOU WHAT?!"
Guess not.
"Okay, yes. Taylor and I kissed," I say as heat rushes up to my cheeks.
"How'd it happen!?" He seems so confused. I guess I would be too if I were him, I'm not the type to kiss that quickly into a relationship. But the moment felt too perfect not to act on it. Ever since then, each kiss felt natural.
"Well we had just won the match for our team, and we were talking about which one of us was the MVP. I told her that she was the MVP in my heart and then leaned in for the kiss." I still remember every detail: the lipstick on her lips, her soft cheek cupped in my hand, it was perfect.
"Awwwww, so romantic! You didn't even need my help! I'm so proud, my little Alex is growing up," he says pretending to wipe away tears from his eyes like a proud parent.
"Ha ha very funny. Anyways after laser tag, we just spent the rest of the day in the arcade," I say. I look over to the big teddy bear plushie she won me.
