Taylor's POV

I. Am. Freaking. Out.

Every second of last night before I went to sleep went into choosing the perfect outfit for this date... and it's all falling apart. On any Saturday, I'd happily sleep in. It's currently 10 am. I had to get up extra early to make myself look good enough for Alex. The only problem was, I had no idea what to dress for.

Am I going to a fancy restaurant? Am I going to his house? Am I going for a hike with him? Charlie said to dress casual but be ready to walk. So the hike thing sounds plausible, but he wouldn't have been able to restrain from saying a nature pun. UGH! Why couldn't Charlie just tell me where I was going?

You know what I'm done! I'm just gonna wear what I chose to wear yesterday.

A neatly laid out outfit is on my dresser consisting of black leggings, light grey cotton sweater, uggs, and my favorite necklace. The necklace from last summer, it's one of the most important things I own.

Charlie's birthday, I still remember every detail.

July 12, 2017. That week I was desperately trying to find something good enough for him. Other than the fact that his high maintenance ass told me that he hated cheap presents, I wanted something that was special for him. So naturally, I bought myself a necklace.

Let me explain, he told me that he didn't like wearing necklaces or bracelets or whatever. But I saw this adorable infinity sign necklace that I wanted for him. So I improvised and got his name engraved on it so that I could wear it.

When I showed him it, I remember that he started tearing up and said it was the perfect gift. I've worn it every day since.

I've always said that once I found my soulmate, I'd engrave his name on it too. So that the two most important guys in my life would always be with me.

I wonder if that name is going to be Alex someday...

Feeling as pleased with how I look as I can, I finally check my phone so I can find out where to meet him.

Hey Alex, so where do I meet you for this mystery date? ;)

Alex: I'm on my way to pick you up. I got your address from Charlie.

Since you can't drive, our destination is within walking distance?

Alex: Nope, my mom is taking us there. I know, not the best idea but we needed a ride there. I hope you don't mind. She doesn't know this is a date btw.

that's fine, and neither do my parents

Alex: Get ready, we'll be there soon.

Ok.

Meeting Alex's mom won't be too bad, right? From what I've heard she seems to care about him a lot, and maybe I'll hear a few embarrassing childhood stories. I can already imagine Alex blushing like crazy, and then me teasing him about it and then him blushing even more. How did I end up with such a cutie?

After a few minutes, Alex's mom pulls into my driveway. I head downstairs and say goodbye to my parents, and head out the door. I told them I was going out with a friend, which isn't untrue. They just don't know that said friend is taking me on a date.

I walk over to the car, open the door and climb into the back seat next to Alex.

"Good morning Alex and Mrs. Daniels," I say happily.

"Hello, Taylor right? It's nice to meet you," Alex's mom says cheerily. She seems so happy and nice, I can totally see the resemblance.

I turn over to Alex and see that he's texting on his phone, then my phone buzzes.
