Charlie's POV

I somehow managed to get through my classes without completely going insane. Just barely though.

Sitting through bio was simple enough. I managed to semi-focus on my teacher speaking while keeping Hunter in my peripheral vision. Unfortunately, as soon as the bell rang he darted out of the room before I had a chance to stop him. I decided to wait until the moment presented itself, rather than to force it.

Hunter wasn't in the next three of the rest of my classes, so the moment was taking it's sweet fucking time to present itself apparently.

"Are you alright?" A voice asks next to me. I turn my head and see a slightly confused Alex sitting next to me, looking at me with an eyebrow raised.

"Uh, yeah. Of course, why wouldn't I be?" I ask trying to be casual.

"Well you haven't been focusing all class and there's like four minutes until lunch and you haven't once complained about how hungry you are," he replies skeptically.

I roll my eyes, "Well maybe I decided to internally complain about my hunger. But I guess since you want me to, I'll say it from now on."

"No please don't. Thinking it is fine with me."

"Ask and you shall receive Alex. Now how much longer until lunch, I'm starving," I say. He groans as I smile smugly.

The bell rings and we leave class to drop our books off at our lockers. Once there, we both open our lockers and put out books away. Alex finishes first because his locker it organized to perfection while mine still barely holds anything inside of it.

As I'm putting my last two books inside I hear a voice from behind me.

"It really is messy in there, isn't it?" Mike jokes while leaning on the locker next to mine like he normally does.

"I consider it to be a metaphor for my life," I say closing my locker and turning to face him.

"Mm, so poetic," he says fake admiringly. I roll my eyes.

"Can I go to lunch now instead of mocking my locker?" I whine.

"Sure, I'll come with." He smiles, which in turn, makes me smile too.

"Well let's go then! We're meeting Taylor and Alex there," I inform turning and starting to walk to the cafeteria.

He leaves the lockers and walks up next to me. He holds my hand as we walk, making me blush. God, I don't think I'll ever get over that.

We take synchronized steps through the halls. Seeing the door to the cafeteria, I break out into a semi-jog, tugging him along with me. I push the doors open and am pleased with what I see.

The cafeteria is less crowded than usual and most people have brought their own lunches, which means more food for yours truly. I smile at the intoxicating smell of chicken tenders and fries wafting from the food line.
I walk over to the delicious display of food and pick out the one that I think looks best.

More than eager to start eating, I impatiently wait for Mike to finish getting his lunch. Once he walks over to me, I nod in the direction of my usual table. I already saw Taylor and Alex there. We walk over to them and sit down next to each other.

"Aw, couples having lunch together," Taylor sings happily. I laugh and roll my eyes, while Alex kisses Taylor's cheek. Mike just smiles brightly. We make brief eye contact before breaking apart to eat. A small gesture, but very much appreciated.

I hungrily start my meal... I'm not an animal I swear. I just love food.

I'm happy to see that Alex and Taylor don't mind Mike at all, and actually seem to like him.  He and Alex talk about classes and stuff, while I watch, enjoying that my friend and my boyfriend get along.
