That one summer, a strange love

Chapter 13- when a box opens...

A few Days passed since we got to Fandea, and i already got familiar with this very strange but also so mystical and awesome Place. But i still can't really get familiar with the thought of me turning into whatever i am going to be in only a few days ...

Chris and I had Finally time yo Spend all the Time together we missed the last month running and hiding from the Others, well we almost did ! And it felt so good just to have him for myself without being scared to get Attacked, without hiding , without running ! 

My Relationship to Calissa is just Amazing, she tries to get back and to recover all those lost Years we missed, but honestly, She deosn't  have to! She cares so much , and i can just feel how much she loves me! I just want to enjoy these moments right now, without any Stress, without fear .. just having those people who truly Love me around ! 

"what are you doing up here Love" Chris asked me , kissing my neck , while i was standing on the Balcony of one of those Huge Tree houses that where all over Fandea.

"just thinking .. i wish we could stay here forever !" i said sighing, turning facing  towards him. "but i know we have to face reality first. " 

"everything will be ok Laney " Chris said wrapping his arms around me "Come on, i will show you something " he said grabbing my hand pulling me toward the door. 

It was already getting dark outside, but on each side of the Path we were walking on, were large wooden lanterns , with nice dimmed lights brighten the way for us. Chris was still holding my hand , and we walked over a beautiful wooden Bridge that was going across a large Pond ,  i let go of Chris Hand and looked over the Bridge. 

I saw the most beautiful Koi Fishes i have ever seen ,big Water lilies in such a Radiant Purple .. "come on Laney!" Chris rushed me ..

We kept walking for a few more minutes until we got to a little cottage , it looked very lost with nothing around it. I actually got very curious what could possibly be in there.. so lost ..?

As we got closer ,  Chris took a really rusty old key out of his Jeans pocket , and opened a also very rusty old door. But he did not opened the door though!

" Laney, i actually wanted to wait and bring you here after we... you know!..after i turned you and we are married!" Chris said , and i could feel how he excited he was, for whatever reason. 

"I have never showed this place to anybody before, here are all the secrets, everything you need to know about me , about my Past , about ...YOU! 

He pushed the door opened and we entered into an actually not so tiny place.

 As soon as we got in, the first thing i saw was a very similar Painting to the one in the Big Hallway of Chris, but this time there was a Very Handsome older Man standing Next to a Sitting and vey Beautiful woman with long Black Hair, i just stared at this Painting and could see that this woman looked so much like Chris! ..Those Eyes! 

"This is your Mother , isn't she" is asked him, he nodded! "she is very Beautiful! " i said , and he just gave me a sad nod still looking at her Painting.

I looked to the right where a big Sideboard with a lot of Silver knives, some silver goblets and some copper ornaments on it was . Underneath were two glass cabinets  each one of them was holding a Box with some , i guess Latin letters or some type of very old Language  on it "Dum Spiro Spero" ..Chris looked at me 

"while i breathe i Hope... That means , while i breathe i hope in Latin!" he said.. I couldn't but  smile at him, because thinking of everything we have been through ... that made so much sense!

..well,  on top of that Sideboard was  Sideboard  hanging on the Wall, Holding some big Books, covered in thick leather with a thick layer of Dust..  and you could clearly smell that this place was very very old,  it kind of reminded me of my Step grandparents basement, the way it smelled... and for being so old it wasn't moldy like the hallway we walked a few days earlier when we walked to Fandea .

i just stepped from one desk, shelve, painting , ...ect to another . Kind of like you do when you walk in a Museum .. it was very impressive all the memories that Chris was keeping here for so long, when i think of all those years he has lived and all the memories that he must have ! .. "hold on .. what did you mean before when you said you keep all your memories here and also memories of ME!?" 

Chris was standing on the other side , looking through some letters, papers or whatever , but turned around towards me  and gave me his oh so incredible smile ! 

"you remember that we both are are meant to be together right!? , well in here you will find all the research and everything that your mother Calissa gave me to find you, to keep you Safe and that i need to know about you and the others !" 

..we spend the whole day in his Cabin , he showed me everything, he even had baby pictures of me that i haven't seen ever before! After a while and so so many other things that he showed me , we decided that it was time to go back, and we were about to leave the cabin , when Chris suddenly stopped "hold on!" he said right when i was walking out the door. "look, there is something over the  door frame!" he said pointing with his hand over me 

He walked right to the door , touched over the doorframe and grabbed a little  wooden box, the box was  all dusty , you could clearrly see that it was laying there for quiet a while . 

"what is it?" i said trying to sneak a curious peak at the little box that he was holding. 

We went back and sat down on the dusty chairs to get a closer look at the inside of the box. 

Chris opened the box and there was a envelope and a Necklace. 

"to my beloved Daughter"  was written on the envelope. Chris looked at me "should we look inside?" he asked me 

"yes" i said,  already knowing who this letter was for and who it was from! . My heart started to beat so fast ...

"Dear Daughter , if you find this letter i am probably gone already, the Others are after your mother and I , and i don't know how long i will be able to hide . But there is something i need to leave you, because i know the others will not stop hunting us until we are all gone! The necklace in this box contains a little veil inside, the Veil has my blood and i know that one Day you will have to make the decision to stay Human or to turn into the most powerful and feared creature . If you decide to turn, you will need my Blood , together with yours , it will be the only way to fight the others, it will make you more power full than every species out there! i know You are scared , but we have somebody , that will always be there for you! I am sure you already met him! Chris!He will be the Only one to Always protect you,  be by your side , no matter what!
