:::Emma's POV:::

I was walking into the kitchen when I saw Patience's phone buzzing on the table. She was in the shower since she just got home from work so I glanced to see who was texting her. It was Wes. My heart jumped but then quickly sank when I saw what he'd said.

Wes: Why didn't you mention Emma's pregnant!?! Drew was so upset when he saw that...

The message cut off there but I didn't need to see anymore. Drew knows I'm having a baby. He probably still doesn't know it's his, but he knows I'm pregnant. Maybe that's enough to keep him at a safe distance. It's not like I don't want him in the baby's life. I mean I would love for him to see his son, but he's so busy and I don't want him walking in and out of my life. That can mess a kid up too. Ugh! Why's life so hard!

"What are you doing with my phone?" Patience asked me.

"Wes texted you." I mumbled handing it to her.

"Do you want me to tell him?" She asked after reading the message.

"No!" I shouted louder than I meant making her jump. "Drew can't know. I don't want him to freak out and feel trapped or something."

"I think he'd want to know Em." She said lightly. "They're coming home soon ya know. He might want to see you."

"He thinks I'm having someone else's baby. He won't come near me Patience. Plus this is what best so just drop it okay?" I begged.

"Whatever Emma." She rolled her eyes and went to her room taking her phone with her.

I didn't mean to make her mad, but I just can't risk Drew flipping out about this. I honestly don't know what I'm scared of anymore. My life just never seems to work out the way I want it to so I'm just scared. I went to Patience's door and knocked lightly.

"Patience, I'm sorry. I know I'm being insane about this, but just try to see things my way. You'd be scared too." I said softly.

She opened the door and sighed. "Emma I get that you're scared but you need to think not only about yourself for once. Think about the baby, and think about Drew. Don't you think he deserves to know he's going to be a dad?" She asked.

"I'm going to be a mother, but I don't think he's going to be a father. He's so busy with music I just down think he has time for this." I argued.

"How do you know he wouldn't make time if you don't even give him the opportunity to. You don't know he's going to screw up if you don't even give him a chance to." She argued back.

I thought for a second for another argument before I realized, she's right. "It's not you're choice to make." I said confidently. "This is my baby and I don't want Drew to know. Maybe after the baby's older I'll tell him, but not now. Please just accept it and let this go. I don't want to fight anymore." I added.

Patience looked taken back but nodded. "Okay. I won't say anything else." She smiled.

"Thank you." I smiled back.

"I still think you're wrong but I respect your wishes." She said.

I shook my head. "I'm going to pick up the pizza we ordered."

"Have fun." She waved a hand dismissively.

I drove to the pizza place in the slow moving traffic. Once I was there I paid and took the food to my car. As I drove home I was thinking about the fight between me and Patience. She was probably right. I should probably tell Drew about the baby. When I stopped at a red light I took my eyes off the road and laid one of my hands over my stomach.

"Kick if you want me to tell Daddy." I said realizing how crazy I sounded.

The baby moved inside me and kicked hard enough to make my stomach jump. My moment of bafflement was burst when the car behind me laid on the horn. I started driving again back to my home. There you had it I guess. I'd left it up to the baby and he decided. Call it a crazy coincidence or whatever, but my best friend was right. I need to stop being so selfish and start thinking about everyone else involved.

I got home and sat down at the table with Patience and we ate in a strained silence. After we'd finished I went to my room and laid down with the baby book in my hands. I flipped through some questions and picked a few to fill in.

Mommy's top three baby names: Michael Trent, Lyric Michael, and Connor Michael.

Mommy's weirdest craving: hot dogs with barbecue sauce on them.

Mommy's most connected baby moment: Today I asked if you wanted me to tell Daddy about you and you kicked in response. It was so magical and I felt like you actually knew what I'd asked.

After a few others I put the book and my pen down and laid on my side hugging my body pillow. Trying to sleep with a baby inside you is nearly impossible. I shifted around in my bed uncomfortably. Just as I was almost asleep my phone dinged.

It said I had a follow request on Twitter since I'd changed it to blocked recently. I looked only to have my heart skip a beat, Drew had added me on Twitter. After a short argument in my head I excepted it. I'm leaving it in the hands of god. What's meant to happen will. I just hope no one gets hurt in the process.
