:::Drew's POV:::
Last night Wes came home from his date and I was automatically grilling him about Emma. It's been like three days since I saw her. He'd told me the dad of the baby isn't in the picture and that Patience didn't say a lot. After that he shrugged and went to his room.
This morning I woke up and my phone said I had a voicemail so I listened to it and it was from Emma, "Drew please call me back. I, um need to tell you something." she sounded like she'd been crying.
I dialed her number and it rang over and over. Then just as I was about to hang up she answered. "Hello?" She said groggily.
"Hey it's Drew. I got your message, what'd you need to tell me?" I asked.
"Oh, um I can't talk over the phone. It's important though. Will you meet me somewhere?" She asked sounding more awake.
"Sure Emma. Where at?" I agreed.
"Um how about at my place? I'll text you the address." She asked.
I said sure and we hung up. She texted me the address and I headed over quickly not wanting to make her wait. After a short drive I was at her door knocking. A woman that looked just like Emma only older pulled open the door and I could see she'd been crying.
"You, must be, Drew." She said choking back sobs. "I'm Emma's mom. My names, Joy."
"Nice to meet you, and yeah I'm Drew." I smiled politely. "Are you okay?"
"I'll be fine." She nodded. "Come in, Emma's in, the kitchen."
"Alright." I slid past her into the house. She closed the door and I went to the kitchen where I found Emma also in tears. What is going on here?
"Oh, Drew." She wiped her eyes and put on a fake smile. "I um, well can we, I guess I." She sighed heavily.
"Emma I don't think it's the best time." Her mother said softly as she passed the doorway.
"What's going on Emma. I rushed over here because you had to tell me something and now everyone's crying?" I asked taking one of her fragile hands in mine for support.
She stared into my eyes or a moment and looked like she was debating on something. "My dad died in a car accident and that's why we're all crying."
"That's terrible!" I squeezed her hand. "I'm so sorry."
Patience came in and I dropped Emma's hand not wanting to make things weird. "Hey Drew, Emma did you tell him?" She asked.
"I told him about my dads accident, yes." She eyed Patience.
"Okay." Patience sighed.
After a lot of tears and some small talk, Emma quickly grabbed my hand and put it over her stomach. I felt the baby kick making my hand bounce slightly. I found myself smiling as she released my hand. She looked up at me fast enough to get whiplash and looked scared for my reaction. I shouldn't even be here. The baby isn't mine and I have no right to like this girl as much as I do!
"I should go." I sighed realizing I was getting in to deep with her.
"Can I ask you a favor?" She asked.
"I suppose." I laughed.
"Will you come with me to the funeral please? I know it's a lot to ask you but I'd really feel better if you were there with me." She practically begged.
"Of course I'll go with you Emma. How can I say no." I smiled. "I do have to go home though. I'm meeting the boys at the studio."
"You're amazing. Thanks Drew." She said as she walked me to the door.
I nodded and headed off to meet the boys. Emma's got a lot going on and I wouldn't feel right blowing her off after she trusts me enough to ask me to go with her. She looked at me with those sad eyes and I was overcome with the feeling of needing to hold together the pieces as she fell apart. I couldn't walk away, she had me captivated.
