(Epilogue)

:::Emma's POV:::

I watched the light shining through my windshield reflect off my engagement ring and glitter off my wedding band. A smile found its way to my lips as I continued to drive toward the baseball field. Drew and I had been married almost seven years now and Lyric was ten. I'd had my tubes tied at Drew's request so I couldn't have kids anymore. I wanted more, but he told me that it wasn't worth losing me to have more kids, and that if I really wanted more we could adopt.

"Mom, the light was yellow you totally could've made it!" Lyric complained. "We're gonna be late." He is his father's son!

"We might be a minute or two late, but at least we won't be dead. How about you just let me worry about driving?" I said looking at him in the rearview mirror.

We were indeed four minutes late and the coach gave me a scolding look as Lyric rushed to the dugout. I just shrugged and took a seat on the bleachers behind home plate. Like I told Lyric, I'd rather be late than dead. Speaking of late, I looked around for Drew and didn't see him yet. He must be late too.

"Emma, there you are!" Patience yelled making everyone look at her. "Oh, like you don't get excited to see your friends!" she snapped at some people staring.

"Gosh Patience, chill." I laughed as she took a seat.

"Sorry, but I just have a lot going on." she sighed.

"Trouble in paradise?" I asked raising a brow.

"Wes and I are never getting back together again." she said with an angry undertone.

"What happened this time?" I chuckled. They do this all the time, and they always get back together.

"He missed my birthday because he was at the studio! Like I even made dinner reservations late so he could come, and even after that when he got home he just went right to bed! He didn't even say anything to me!" she said getting progressively louder with each word.

"Sorry, but the boys have been pretty busy lately." I said lightly. "It'll get better."

"Easy for you to say, Drew's always around for you. Wes just does whatever he wants." she sighed glancing at my left ring finger.

We talked a little more and watched Lyric pitch about half the game before I spotted Drew. He was walking toward us with Wes in tail. Those two were always together. Even when Patience and him fight, I see him all the time. It gets hard sometimes because when they fight he sleeps on our couch since him and Patience moved in together. She gets pissed and says I'm taking sides, which isn't true. He's Drew's best friend and I respect that.

"Hey beautiful." Drew smiled walking up the bleachers and kissing me softly before sitting next to me.

Wes stood awkwardly a row below us looking sadly at Patience who was trying her best to ignore him. He sighed and took a seat still looking at her. "Where's my boy?" Wes asked me.

"He's up to bat next." I smiled.

After the team won the game the boys were shaking hands. After they had all shook hands Wes went down and talked to Lyric. They did a cute handshake then Wes came back to us. "Patience, um, the team wants to ask you something." Wes said softly.

"Did you hear something?" she looked at me immaturely.

"Patience seriously look!" Wes yelled.

At that moment my son and his teammates walked out on the field holding separate poster boards with different words. They got in order and flipped up the posters to read, "Aunt Patience Will You Marry Uncle Wes?" The boys without signs all stood helping the other kids hold them up. I found myself getting choked up. When had Wes had time to plan this out and include my son?

Patience was crying and she looked back at Wes, who was now down on one knee holding out a ring waiting on an answer. "Of course I'll marry you! Who can say no to this?" she smiled through tears looking out at the team.

Wes stood up and slid the ring on her finger. "Good, because if you did say no I told the team they could dump Gatorade on you." he laughed.

Drew and I took Lyric to the car and he put his stuff in the back. "Sorry I was late." he told me as he took my hand in his.

"It's fine. At least you showed up." I shrugged.

"Yeah, that's what I get for riding with Wes." Drew laughed.

"Speaking of Wes, did you know about his little stunt back there?" I asked.

"I helped him plan it! Me and Keaton made the signs." he laughed. "He's been planning it for weeks. First he wanted to do it on her birthday, but then he decided he wanted Lyric to ask."

"Well it was adorable." I smiled.

"Yeah, it was cute." he smiled. "Not as cute as you though."

"I love you." I laughed.

"Well I love you too." he kissed me and I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Ewwwww! Guys stop!" Lyric groaned opening his door. "Hurry up! We have to get pizza because the team won, and we always get pizza when we win!"

I giggled and wiped the glittery lip gloss off Drew's lips. "Let's go."

"Okay, but I'm driving." he said snatching the keys out of my hand. This is my life, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
