Chapter 41: Creamsicle Walls

Rory's P.O.V.

I wake up the next morning with Logan's heavy arm draped over my stomach. He's laying towards me with his mouth slightly ajar, a small snore escaping his lips. I smile at the sight and ever so slowly push the limb off of me. He thankfully doesn't wake and I tip toe out the door into the living room where mom and dad are sitting with coffee in their hands.

"Good morning." I greet them both.

"Good morning hun."

"Good morning kiddo."

"How did you both sleep?" I ask.

"I slept better than I have in a while actually." mom replies with a grin.

"I slept terribly to be honest, that couch felt like a rock." dad laughs and I walk over to pour myself a cup of coffee. 

"I'm sorry, you should probably try and find your way into an actual bed tonight." I tease and he shrugs. "What should we do for breakfast?"

"Oh there's a wonderful little coffee shop just up the road and it's got such good breakfast foods." dad exclaims. 

"Alright then, let's go there once everyone wakes up." mom says and heads to the bathroom to get ready I suspect. 

I bring my mug with me back into the bedroom where I decide to do a bit of reading while I wait. 

"Mmmm, Ace?" Logan groans sleepily.

"Sh go back to sleep."

"What are you doing?"

"I'm reading."

"Why?" he sounds so confused and it's rather adorable.

"Because I want to."

"Come back to bed."

"I am in bed."

"No I mean sleep."

"I'm not tired." I laugh.

"I am." 

"Then you go back to sleep."

"Okay." he huffs and within seconds his mouth is emitting a soft snore.

I smile to myself before opening my newest novel that I've been reading.

"Goooood morning everyone!" my mom cheers through the hall as everyone sludges to the kitchen. "Wow, you all do not look like you have had enough sleep."

"Well we were up till the crack of dawn smoking pot and drinking." Zach whines and I laugh to myself.

"That's no excuse." my mom dismisses him which only makes me laugh more. "We are all going to breakfast. Now go get ready, you have ten minutes." she claps and Zach frowns before pouting and doing as he's told. He is such a child.

Once everyone has finished preparing for the day we all meet back in the living room and decide on who is going in who's car. We settle on Logan and I taking my car that we drove here; Zach, Lane, and the babies taking their car; and mom and dad driving together in his car. 

When we reach the coffee shop my senses are immediately ignited by the smell of strong black coffee.

"Oh I want one right this instant." I sigh and my mom nods in agreement.

"Hi, how many?" a girl in a lovely white and cream polka dot apron greets us.

"Six please." dad tells her and she nods before leading us to our table. The shop is the most adorable place I've ever seen. The walls are a beautiful pastel orange creamsicle color. The booths are beige and the tables white. There are several various paintings hung, mostly sunsets and sandy beaches. The diner looks very 70's and 80's style and I absolutely love it.

"This place is so cute." mom remarks, mirroring my thoughts.

"I agree, it's adorable." Lane says and we all open our menus.

"What can I get started for you all?" the same girl approaches with a note pad and pen in her hand.

"I'll have orange juice and coffee please." mom requests. Everyone nods in agreement and the waitress laughs a little before telling us she'll just bring a pitcher of orange juice and a pot of coffee. While we wait we all continue to glance over the menu.

"Here we are." she sets down the large pitcher, the pot,  along with six glasses and six mugs, and two small plastic cups for the babies. "Are we all ready to order or do we need a few more minutes?" we all look around at each other.

"I think we're ready." I say.

"Alright, what can I get started for you?" she asks me.

"I'll have the 2 eggs with bacon and a cinnamon roll." I tell her.

"And how would you like your eggs cooked?"

"Scrambled please."

"You got it. And for you, sir?"

"I'll have the breakfast sandwich delux." Logan orders and she nods.

"And I'll take the loaded breakfast burrito." Zach smiles in anticipation of the mass amount of food he just ordered.

"And I'll take the same thing that she has." Lane points to me. "And for the babies we'll just take two small plates of scrambled eggs."

"I'll have the same thing she's having to." mom nods in my direction and I smile.

"And i'll take the meat lovers omelet." dad says.

"Oh I was looking at that, that looks so good dude." Zach replies and dad nods with a grin.

"Alright, I'll have that right out for you." the waitress concludes and walks away to the kitchen.

We all make various small talk about how beautiful it is here and how we still can't believe the mess dad got himself into. When the food arrives my stomach rumbles at the smell. Everything looks so good and we all become silent as we chow down on the scrumptious food.

When we all finish dad offers to pay for everyone's and we reluctantly agree. Logan put up quite a fight but my dad's stubbornness almost reaches the level that mom has. 

"What should we do the rest of the day?" I ask everyone once we've left the restaurant. 

"Well I would like to go look at some baby stuff for the twins. And I think they have some cool music stores around." Lane gleams and Zach nods in excitement. 

"Okay, well I saw some other cool stores down this way if you wanna go check them out?" Logan asks.

"I would like to spend the rest of my morning laying on that beautiful beach." mom sighs and dad shakes his head.

"I'll have to agree with her. That's my favorite thing about this place." dad says and I laugh.

"Alright then, I'll text you later and we'll meet up for lunch? Or dinner since it's already 11." I ask.

"Sure thing, bye hun." mom waves and gets into the car with dad. Logan and I get into our own car and begin to head down the street.

Hello my loves I am so so sorry I thought this chapter uploaded when it was supposed to but I checked back today and it said it was still a draft. I don't understand technology sometimes I'm so sorry.

Anywhoosies, I'm sorry again, I missed you all. The next chapter will have Rory and Logan's date, Lorelai and Chris's day at the beach, and Lane and Zach's baby shopping. I will be doing all three points of views so stay tuned for that, it should be up by Tuesday or Wednesday.
