Chapter 44: Wedding Planning
Rory's P.O.V.
"You haven't stopped staring at it." Logan whispers and my cheeks turn red at his innuendo.
"What? What do you mean?"
"Your ring." he laughs, catching on to my embarrassment.
"Oh. Well yeah I like it."
"I'm glad." he smiles his knowing smile.
"I hate when you look at me like that."
"Like what?"
"Like that."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"This is indescribably cliche."
"You started it."
"That look. That look of hey I know this or I know better than you."
"That is not what my face looks like!"
"Is too!"
"Is not!"
"Is too!"
"Okay now our maturity is starting to resemble that of Lane and Zach's kids."
"Oh no we are far less mature."
"So."
"So what?"
"The wedding."
"Oh. Yeah. The wedding." I get slightly uncomfortable. I know engagement comes with planning a wedding, but I haven't yet thought about the event.
"Thoughts about it?"
"I haven't really given it much thought to be honest."
"You haven't?"
"No not really."
"Yet again I am reminded that you are as far from a four year old prince seeker as you can be."
"You know me so well."
"Well I have given it some thought. I was thinking doing it on the beach?"
"And have sand everywhere the entire night? No thanks." I laugh.
"Alright then." he joins me and I actually start to put thought into where I would like the wedding to be. It seems like a such a foreign concept, getting married. Such a strange thing to think about. But I suppose with a wedding ring comes with a ceremony. But I didn't expect to be talking about it so soon. I don't know when I really thought the subject would come up.
"What about in stars hollow?"
"Your home town?"
"Yeah, it's pretty there and there's been a lot of weddings there."
"It's so small, though."
"So?"
"So I have a lot of family and a lot of opinionated family that won't particularly like a wedding in a small town."
"Well we can talk about it later."
"Why not now?"
"I don't know, isn't it kind of soon to be discussing this?"
"We're engaged. When exactly did you plan on discussing this?"
"I don't know."
"I'm trying really hard not to get upset at the fact that you've put in zero thought into the ceremony that ties us together."
