Gabrielle parked her car in the usual spot. She was meeting her four other friends at the park under the rock that looked like an elephant, just like she had every wednesday since the beginning of freshmen year.
Of course, then she had to have her mom or step dad drop her off. But, due to her December birthday, she was able to get her permit right after freshmen year. She had her drivers license since December of sophmore year too.
But now it was junior year, and all of the five could drive. She grabbed her purse from the passenger seat and climbed out of the car. It was old and kind of falling apart, but it got Gabrielle where she needed to be.
As she got walked toward the park, a bright red mini cooper almost ran her over. She flipped off the familiar driver, who was grinning ear to ear. Her best friend got out off the car.
Her curly brown hair and chocolate brown eyes were warm. She laughed.
"Sorry 'bout that." she said.
"Shut up Alisa."
Alisa jogged up to her, giggling. Together they walked to their spot and sat down. It didnt take long for the other three to show up. First Alex, who had her dark hair framing her face in a way that made her skin contrast even more to it. Then Andrea, who ran up to the group, and then fell on the grass, giggling. Lastly, Bella slowly walked up in a Black Veil Brides T-Shirt.
Gabrielle sighed, satisfied. The group, which started out originally to study for science, was the thing she looked forward to most in the week.
"So guys, whats up?" Alisa started. They started every meeting by going around the circle and saying what was the best and worst things that happened since last meeting. Andrea started.
"The best thing is probably the fact that I have C average. And the worst is that I failed the Geometry test."
"The best thing is that I got the new Pierce the Veil album yesterday. The worst thing is that my mom wont let me buy another album in two weeks." Bella barely muttered.
"The best thing is that I am starting to talk to Christian again," Alisa said. Gabrielle moaned, Christian was her on/ off again boyfriend who she didnt particularly like. "And the worst thing is Gabby still disapproves of him." She shot Gabrielle a knowing look, and she couldnt help but laugh at her friend's stuborness.
Alex just rolled her eyes. "The best thing is that my mom finally stopped smoking. The worst thing is that Im worried about my relatives that live in Palm Springs."
Palm Springs was in the middle of the California desert.
"Im sure they are fine." Alisa comforted Alex.
"Well, uh, the best thing is, as always, us meeting here. And the worst thing is that my brother got a job."
"Where?" Andrea asked.
"Im not sure where, but the company is called Better Living Industries."
"Oh! My cousin works there!" Bella uncharacteristically squealed.
"Yeah, its like four hours away though, so he is moving out of the house. And with my dad around..." she let the sentence hang in the air.
"What?! He is in California?!" Alisa exclaimed.
"Actually, he is in Santa Clarita. And because Mike leaving he might try to come over."
"You can stay over my place if you want to." Andrea offered.
All the other girls offered up their houses too.
"Aw thanks guys. I know you will always be there for me."
