Six Years Later
"Jace!" a voice called.
The boy looked up. After all, Jace was his name, and it was his mother who was calling him.
He stood up from the blocks he was playing with and left his room. He carefully walked down the stairs and held onto the banister. He was still small, and his legs sometimes found it hard to go down the steps.
He made it, and was met with his mother's smile.
"J, c'mon. I have to take you to school."
"I dont want to go!" he screamed. He ran and grabbed onto his mother's legs. She softly pried him off and crouched down to meet him. Her brown eyes were filled with patience and kindness.
"Honey, I know your first day can be a little scary. But Freya is starting today too. And Colin is in the first grade."
"What about Kyla?" the young boy asked.
His mother sighed. "I told you sweetie, Kyla is too young to start school this year. She's starting next year."
Suddenly, the boy's father's red mop of hair appeared from the kitchen.
"Jace, you'll be fine." His hazel eyes that matched Jace's looked from Jace to his mother. His mom stood up and kissed his dad. He began to walk out the front door, when he stopped and turned around.
"Alisa?" he called.
"Yeah Honey?" his mom replied.
"I love you."
His mother smiled. "I love you too."

Jace held his mother's hand as he stood in front of his new classroom. His mom insisted on gelling his brown hair to the side, and his sweater was uncomfortable. But, he got a cool backpack with rockets on it and a whole new set of crayons.
Just as he was about to beg his mom to go back home, a dark- skinned girl with even darker hair ran up to them.
"Hey Jace. Hey Auntie Alisa."
Jace's mom let go of his hand to give the girl a hug.
"Are you nervous for your first day Freya?" his mom asked. The girl vigorously shook her head. Her dad and mom jogged up to the group. They were also greeted by hugs from Jace's mom.
"Auntie Andrea and Uncle Frank!" he exclaimed.
"Hey little man!" Uncle Frank bent over to give Jace a fist bump. "Make sure she doesnt drive your teacher crazy okay." he gestured to his daughter, who had since run somewhere else.
Jace's mom rolled her eyes. "Im sure Bella can handle all of them." Just then, Jace's Auntie Bella appeared from the classroom. Her stomach was huge, and Jace's mom told him that soon she was going to have a baby. Jace also knew that she was the only one who was really his aunt, she was married to his dad's brother Uncle Mikey.
She waddled over to the group, and again all of the adults hugged.
"Jace!" a voice shouted from across the schoolyard. He turned to see Colin, followed by his dad, walking toward him.
Jace could tell that Colin's mom had tried to tame his afro, but it only half-worked. Of course, his dad's afro was as huge as ever.
They both walked up to the group, and again were meet with hugs. "Where's Alex?" Auntie Andrea asked Uncle Ray.
"She had to go into work early this morning with Gabrielle. Have any of you seen Christian or Kellin?" he asked.
"I thought Kyla was starting next year." Jace's mom responded.
"She is, but Christian said that they might stop by to wish Freya and Jace good luck." He smiled at Jace when he said his name.
"I want to see Kyla!" Jace tugged on his mom's arm.
Almost as if she was summoned, Kyla appeared with her dads behind her. Even though she was adopted, she bared similar resemblence to Uncle Kellin.
Kyla pulled Jace over to the swingset. "I wish I was starting school."
"I wish I wasnt." Jace said.
"You'll be fine." Kyla said.
"How do you know?" Jace crossed his arms.
She shrugged. "I just do. You'll be fine."

Nineteen Years Later
Jace fixed his tie once more and looked in the mirror. He stood in the house he grew up in, in the heart of Battery City. His dad, after all, was the leader of the city.
His mom walked in. Her graying brown hair was pulled back into an elaborate bun. The skin around her eyes had lines from the constant smiling she did. Today was no different.
"Hey Mom."
"Oh, Jace. You look so handsome." she stood back and held her hand to her mouth. Jace turned slowly with his arms out. His tuxedo fit perfectly.
"You look so much like your uncle." she sighed.
"How do I look like Mikey?" he asked, laughing.
"No, not Mikey. Nathaniel." she whispered.
Jace crossed the room and took his mother in a hug. "I love you so much mom."
"I love you too." she said, muffled in his suit.
She pulled back, "But, Im afraid that we must go outside now." They walked outside, with her arm in his. She took her seat next to his father, who had long- since abandoned the red hair. He gave him a thumbs up, and kissed his mom on the cheek.
Jace stood near the arch of flowers. Next to him was a minister he couldnt remeber the name of. All he could see were the couples coming down the aisle. First his younger brother Chris with Colin's younger sister Clara. Then Aunt Bella's and Uncle Mikey's daughter Bryn with Gabrielle's son Colten. Last was Colin and Freya.
Each of the couples split apart, with the men standing by Jace and the women standing on the opposite side of the arch.
Then came nine year old Joey, who Christian and Kellin just recently adopted. He held a pillow with two rings on it. He gave it to the priest and sat down in his seat.
Next came Freya's younger sister, Laura, with Freya's daughter. Andi was only three, but looked so gleeful as she threw the flower petals. As she got to the end, Laura picked her up and sat down.
Jace looked down the aisle once more. And tears welled up in his eyes. Kyla stood there, looking like an angel in all white. Her fathers flanked her, and he shook each of their hands before they sat down.
He took Kyla's hands and repeated what the minister told him to repeat. She did the same. They exchanged rings, and the minister told him to kiss the bride.
"With pleasure." Jace said.
And they kissed, for the first time as Jace and Kyla Way.
"Before you go, Jace and I would like to thank our parents and our dear friends. Thank you for risking everything so all of this would be possible. Every citizen of California owes the Killjoys their lives and their freedom." Kyla said.
And that was the first time Jace saw his father cry.

Wow. So its over.
First of all, if you have read all the way to the end, thank you for believeing in me and sticking with me. This was my first fanfiction, and I have learned a lot.
Mainly that its challenging to write a story from 8 different viewpoints. I know im NEVER doing that again.
Sorry that the last couple of chapters were less than great, I was rushing to finish this fanfic so i could start my next one, At The Top Of My Lungs, which is a Gerard Way fic.
I would like to thank my friends supernova_silence, CrossfireCandidate, and Christian (aka Dead Eye) for giving me inspiration and kicking me in the ass when i didnt update for a while.
okay. this was fun. lets do it again sometime.
love you lots,
Siren
