The portal was gone, it had exploded.

"No..."I whispered, then I yelled "NO NO NO!!!!! THE PORTAL!!!" I jumped and looked around, Max didn't make it... I thought. Having a friend wound Be a little eaiser, but right now I need to focus.

I breathed out and calmed myself, "ok, this said I joined a server, so I'm not the only person here..." I walked over to a tree and stared punching it. I was freaked, but that doesn't stop me from knowing the basics.

An hour later, I had 20 blocks of wood and the sun was going down. I ran to the nearest hill and dug a 5x5x3 hole inside.

"Not to shabby for my first day if I do say so myself. Now I have sword, but I better craft some to-...." There was a knock at the door. I peaked through the door and saw a red hoodie. I smiled, opening the door I hugged the person that was there. "Max!! You made it!!" I said joyfully.

"Hey Alex" he hugged me back. Letting go of him, I invited him in. "You know Alex, it's midnight, why are you still awake?"

"It's midnight?" I looked outside "oh, it is, that explains" I yawned "why I'm tired."

"I've got some beds in my inventory, you look like you could really use some sleep..."

"Is it that obvious?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'll set them up, gimme a sec...." A few minutes later, he had the dull red beds set up in the corner of the house i had dug.

Strange how he put them right next to each other, but I'm to tired to worry about it.... I thought as I flopped on one of the beds and passed out.

I was first to wake up that morning. Max was turned away from me, still asleep, but he shifted and he suddenly rolled over.

"So cute...." I said so quitely I barley heard it.

" Alex, I...... you..." He mumbled. Smiling, I got up and walked over to the chest in the corner.

"Mining or wood gathering? It's only day 2 so.."

     "AHHHH!!!!!!" Max screamed.

"Max! Are you ok?" I asked, worried.

"Yeah, just a stupid night mare, no big deal..." He said walking over to me.

"Alright well, grab a helmet and pickaxe, we need to go mining" I said scootching out of his way. He grabbed 2 iron ingots and a stick, then crafted a sword.

"I've got mob duty" he tossed me an iron pick, " you focus on mining, I'll fight the mobs for you."

I laughed playfully, " just c'mon Max! And don't forget to place the torches on the LEFT side of the walls" I said heading to the door. Max followed me out, closing the door behind him. I pointed left and we went that way in search of a cave.
