(Alex's POV)

"Alex he's been out almost 2 months..." Benja tried to reason with me.

"I don't care!" I yelled and put my head back on Max's chest, my heart skipping a beat Everytime his beat.

"Alex, theres no point, you haven't slept since the creeper attack! You need to sleep!" Sky placed a hand on shoulder, but I shook it off with every ounce of strength I had left.

"I still don't care! I'm not leaving his side!" I stared to cry. Suddenly, his breathing grew very shallow, and his every breath became father and father apart.

"Alex!" Benja tried again to get me away from Max, but I pulled out a knife and pointed it at him without my head leaving Max.

"Back off... I will use this" I threatened, and all three Tubers stood their ground. His heart gave one beat, then went silent. I dropped the knife, and prayed for a beat.

     It never came.

I ran out of the house and into the rain. I ran to the stables and climbed on to a jet black horse without a saddle or reins.

"Alex!" Rain called from the door. Sky ran out and tired to catch me by jumping on a horse himself, but I was already gone. I had grabbed and taken the fastest horse in our stables.

"Alex!" The calls great weaker and weaker, until I couldn't hear a damn thing beside the pounding of rain in my ears and hoofbeats on the grass. The tears were mixing with the rain and streaming down my cheeks. I wiped my eyes and kept going, never looking back.

I woke up in a taiga biome, still sitting on the stallions back. I rubbed my arms and jumped off the horse. I cleared the snow in a space so it could eat, and another so I could sit down.

Why him? In the whole world, why him? I thought then looking at the sky, I screamed. "Why did you take him from me!!!!" I buried my face in my knees and cried. I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder, and looked up to see Sky. I turned my head away from him. "What do you want?" I asked, my vioce growing quiet with every word.

"I want you to come home, he still might wake up..." I cut him off.

"No he won't! I ran out like that because his heart stopped! And there's no coming back from that!" I turned away again. He put his arm around my shoulder and kind of hugged me, but pulled his arm away after a minute. "What'll I do without him?" I got very quiet. Sky grabbed my chin and turned me toward him. He moved the hair out of my eye.

"Your half demon, Alex. I don't know a lot about them, but you know there's one way to bring him back." He said and let go of my chin. I climbed back on the horse and turned it around, following Sky back to the house.

When I walked in the house, Benja and Rain gave me a hug and led me over to Max. I put my head on his chest again knowing I'd hear nothing. And I didn't. I consentrated very hard at my own beating heart. It speed up then half the speed left in an instant. Now paying attention to only his heart and nothing else, I still heard nothing.

There was a beat. Then two beats, then his heart was working prefectly by the sound of it. I relaxed and fell asleep on him, knowing he'd wake up in his own time. His breathing would falter everynow and then, but he was ok.

Then two days later, he moved...
