"Its that way!" I pointed west.

"No, its that way!" Max pointed the oppsite direction.

"Your being stubborn!" I rolled my eyes.

"No, your the stubborn one..." Max smiled at me.

"Fine, wanna make a bet?" I challenged.

"Sure, cause i have a compass." He pulled it out and it was pointing east. Looking west real quick, i ran.

"Catch me if you can!!!" I shouted not looking back. I heard his footsteps behide me as he began to run. I pulled out a block of cobblestone and threw it in his path. Hearing him trip i cheered in victory. I placed down two more as he yelled.

"Why you little..... That was not fair!" He got up and began running again. Looking back i didnt see him so i slowed down till i stopped.

"Max?" I said, looking around. I noticed i was standing in the clearing of an oak forest. Seeing the bushes rustle to late, Max jumped out at me. "EEP!" I yelled as i was pushed to the ground. I landed on my back, and Max had me pinned down by my sholders. We started laughing, yet neither of us moved.

"I gotchu, i gotchu i gotchu i gotchu!!!!" Max laughed.

"Ha ha! Yup,you did!!! I should've seen that coming!!" I said between giggles. After a few minutes our laughter died and we just sat there. Max sat beside me and let me get up, but i wanted to lay in the grass a little longer. Pushing my self up on my hands, i closed my eyes and breathed in deeply, taking in all the scents and smells. When i opened my eyes a couple seconds later, Max was staring at me, biting his bottom lip.
"Max...?" I asked as he got dangerously close to my face, and his eyes closed. "MAX?! WHAT'RE YOU D...!?!" I never finished. Max pressed his lips to mine, and held them there for a few minutes. My face was red enough to blend me into the nether. Then he broke away and sat next to me. I was frozen in place, shacking my head I looked at him, wide eyes.

"Max!? Did you just...?!" I was still to shocked for words. He just laughed and placed his hand on mine, weaving our fingers together. I didn't object, but now I was curious. "How long have you crushed in me?" I asked smiling at him. He blushed.

"Since we were 14..." he trailed off. I smiled and came clean.

"I never knew, I thought that, well, i never thought my best friend would fall in love with me...." I stammered, the red on my face fading.

"Well, i did" he said smiling, "sometimes, things like this just, creep up on ya and you never see them coming." He gently grabbed my chin and turned my head up so he could see my eyes. I smiled, and kissed him back. He put his hand behind my head when I tried to break away.

Letting me go, he helped me up off  the ground and we headed back the way we came. I leaned my head on his shoulder as we walked back to the shelter, and continued North. I knew now I didn't want to be anywhere else then right here, walking with him.
