Pretty

Gerard sat on the bed with his knees tucked under him.

It had been a week since he had been brought up from the basement and he had been on his best behavior. He was not willing to chance being put back down there, and even more so, any other punishment he might earn.

So he did whatever he was told. Frank didn't ask him to do a lot...

Mostly just requesting that he sit up for one reason or another, or strip for baths- which he was still getting used to. But it wasn't anything that hard. He still found himself flinching if Frank moved too fast or touched him suddenly, but Frank didn't seem to mind too much.

He simply hushed him and murmured a quick, 'you're okay' and that was that.

He hadn't cried about his situation in a while, which Frank seemed glad for.

Just then, as if on que, Frank stepped through the door.

He smiled at the small boy.

"Hi, sweetie."

"Hi."Gerard greeted him quietly, blushing.

"Have you been good today?" Frank asked.

Gerard nodded.

"That's my sweet boy..."Frank sat on the bed.

He slowly reached out, cupping his soft cheek.

He looked into Gerard's eyes as he ran his thumb over his soft lips.

He sat back a little before deciding to try something new.

He pulled Gerard over, and onto his lap.

Gerard looked up at him in surprise, blushing harshly.

Frank leaned over, kissing his nose. He smiled as Gerard looked down, bright red.

"You're so pretty." Frank sighed.

He had said it a million times, but he couldn't help it. it was the only thing he could think to say.

Gerard pursed his lips.

He had never thought of himself as pretty.

He had never really thought of himself as good looking at all, despite the amount of times his mother had adressed him as a "Handsome young man". He certainly never thought he was pretty.

He wondered why Frank seemed to.

"You okay, Honey?" Frank broke his thoughts.

"Yeah."he answered quickly.

He backed it up with a reassuring, yet still slightly nervous smile.

He wasn't ready to start that argument yet. maybe not ever.
