Chapter 1

"Mom, where are we going now?" asked a very curious and tired eevee named Trace.
Coral sighed. "Your being so impatient Trace. The Leafeon territory is close by, I promise."
Trace grunted. He was growing tired from walking so much. Though he was energetic, walking long distances were not his favorite thing to do. He walked side by side with his mother, anyone would think he was scared to leave her side.
Trace's father, Jayce was walking ahead with two of Trace's older siblings one brother and one sister, who were both eevees and have not decided what they wanted to evolve into. All of his siblings were grown now and five of his older brothers and sisters evolved, two into jolteons, two into a vaporeons, and one into a flareon. He missed his older siblings quite a bit, but he knew that their jobs were important.
Four were elite guards of different kingdoms, and one of those elite guards was also the royal family chef. Being a elite guard seemed to be the goal of all the children of Jayce and Coral.
One of his sisters was a real estate agent who bought and sold different beach houses since she was a vaporeon and that was the area she lived in was on the beach in the vaporeon territory. Since she was successful at her job anyone could over look the fact she wasn't a elite guard for the Vaporeon royal family, but Trace knew no one should underestimate her, because she was almost as strong as her elite guard brothers and sisters.
Trace on the other paw was concerned with his choice even though he was 9 years old. He had been to the eevee, jolteon, Vaporeon, flareon and even the Leafeon kingdoms a few times but he still wasn't sure if he wanted to be any of those yet. He still wanted to learn about the glaceons who kept to themselves, the slyveons who were next to be visited, and the espeons who his family did not want him to evolve into. Trace was very curious as to what an espeon really was.
The espeons were considered dangerous to even go to and the other kingdoms were suspicious of the them for not allowing open trade at all. Though it was their right to not open their kingdom to the others, their lack of responses the past 200 years was rather odd since most of the kingdoms would have interactions in either peace negotiations or wars.
During his distracted thoughts Trace and his family finally arrived at the Leafeon territory and were greeted by leafeon elite guards and leaf maidens. The maidens though beautiful were also very dangerous.
Trace kept looking around to see if the leafeons were hiding anymore troops in the bushes and trees, but couldn't find any. His father stepped forward to greet the head guard who was sitting down with four elites behind him.
"Good afternoon Master Elite Ran. It is an honor to be invited once again to your kingdom." Said Jayce.
The Master Elite smiled and nodded, "It is always an honor to host the two great ambassadors of the alliance. Come with us we shall bring you to the palace. The Queen is awaiting your arrival."
With that the Master Elite stood up and began to head down the path towards the palace of the the leafeon royal family. Trace fell in line behind his father and beside his mother while the leafeons began to gather around the family to escort them. Trace realized there were leafeons coming out of the bushes and trees he was staring at earlier. He was amazed at how their camouflage kept them from being detected by his eyes.
It took them two more hours to make it to the palace which Trace was amazed at how tall the trees were that made up the palace.
As he stood there admiring the structure of how four tall trees that reached up to the sky and how they were so wide and in the middle were stones built up and held together with the sap of the trees that held the stones together for hundreds of years. The walls were decorated with many plants and flowers. The windows were made of crystals and some with able to see through and some had designs of famous leafeons of the past.
After a few minutes of staring Trace was nudged roughly from behind and pushed forward, almost making him lose his balance. When he looked back he saw a female shiny leafeon who was glaring at him. For a moment he thought she was a leaf maiden, but to his surprise he realized it was Princess Blade!
"Are you going to stand there and look like your lost, or are you going to go follow your family inside?" She said rather impatiently.
Trace nodded and quickly went to catch up to his family, not wanting to cause any problems. He looked back one more time and saw she was following. He guessed she was apart of the maidens who were guiding his family through their territory and keeping an eye on the ambassadors.
When they were inside the palace he looked around at the decorations inside and how much detail were in the paintings that leafeons were famous for. There were pictures of royal family members of the past and elite guards and maidens who had received high rankings. There were some pictures of beautiful gardens.
They were taken down the long hall and lead to the throne room where the queen of the leafeons herself, Queen Levy. She sat down on a throne made of finely polished wood and there were fresh flowers all over it that made the throne look colorful. She looked bored while reading some paper that was held up by two leafeons. When she looked up and saw the two ambassadors her face lit up with a smile that could brighten a dark room.
"Ambassadors Jayce and Coral! How nice of you to finally arrive!" She exclaimed excitedly and jumped down off her throne elegantly walking towards them her head held high and her tail raised. Jayce and Coral bowed to her as did their children.
"Your majesty thank you for inviting us here. It is a honor." Said Coral.
"All of you must be tired from your long journey here. I will let some of my servants show you to where your rooms are. I hope you find everything comfortable and hope to see all of you for dinner tonight. The chef is making my favorite, spiced salad." Queen Levy said with a bright smile.
Trace felt excited to try this new dish and was just as excited to go to the guest rooms and relax from the long walk.
"I hope you join me and my sister Princess Blade for dinner." Said Queen Levy and was given a stern look from her younger sister.
"Thank you, your majesty. We look forward to dining with you." The ambassadors bowed and were taken to their rooms leaving the queen with her little sister.
The family was shown the rooms they would each be staying in. Trace got his own room along with his other other brothers and sisters while his parents got a room to themselves.
Trace's room had a decently sized bed, a table with fruit in a basket and there was a shower in the corner that was like a small waterfall. Though there were windows that let in sunlight there were also some light crystals to make sure the room had light when the sun went down.
Trace actually didn't mind the night, but was warned to never enjoy it. He always questioned why but was never given a straight answer. He pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind when a knock came on the door. When he went to answer it he was met with the glare of Princess Blade.
"Hey slacker, listen. Sorry about earlier but I'm not a very patient Leafeon. Also.." the princess came in the room followed by four maidens. The princess looked around and back at the Eevee. "We came to make sure you didn't have plans for any kind of attacks on my sister."
"I don't plan on anything except sleeping and eating!" Exclaimed Trace
"So your lazy?" Princess Blade snickered as she started to enjoy pestering the eevee.
Trace growled as a leaf maiden gently mixed him. "Maybe we shouldn't. Other him if he isn't worth our time Princess."
Princess Blade looked at the maiden who took a few steps back. "I told you to call me General Blade. I don't like the idea of being a Leafeon princess. Everyone will just think it means I'm weak and a push over."
"I am sorry General Blade. Forgive me." The maiden bowed.
"Just don't do it again." Blade said and began to walk out of the room. "See you around, little Trace."
With that Princess Blade and her four leaf maidens left the room closing the door behind them. Trace sighed and went to lay down in his bed to finally relax. The soft mattress seemed to hug him along with the blankets he wrapped himself in. As he made himself comfortable he started to slowly drift off to sleep.
"This is.. wonderful.." he said as he drifted off to sleep.
