Two weeks had passed in the sylveon kingdom.
On the third day after the battle in the ice fields, there was a funeral for the deceased king, and the kingdom seemed to be different from what it was before Trace arrived.
The glaceons returned home after paying respects to the king. There was no treaty signed yet.
King Asta gave a heart felt speech of his father and the life he lived. Declaring how good of a king he was to his people, and that his death will be mourned by all.
Trace sat near his mother and father during the service and watched as the golden casket surrounded by beautiful flowers was carried out of the sylveon temple by eight sylveon warriors.
They took him to the tomb of the royals where he would be laid to rest among his kin.
The rest of the week, the sylveons wept for their king.
Near the end of the week, King Asta announced that there would be another gathering in the temple.
Once those who were told to come had arrived, King Asta announced his plan for the sylveons to begin their alliance with the glaceons to bring peace to the lands and to show the other kingdoms they were wanting to join the alliance.
He also spoke of his marriage to the glaceon Princess Noel, to make sure the alliance was forever sealed through marriage.
The kingdom of the sylveons was divided by this decision and those gathered yelled out their protest.
That was until they showed the one who murdered their king, the psychotic prince long thought dead, Zane.
Zane was wrapped in chains and given a weighted vest so he could move at a slow walk. His ribbons were tied around him and bound together so they couldn't be used as weapons. He even wore a muzzle on his mouth to prevent using his teeth to bite anyone. Unfortunately they didn't cover his eyes.
The sylveons immediately feared the look that he gave to those gathered in the temple. Knowing he was pure evil just from his gaze.
Zane only sought out one Pokemon. He searched the crowd as quickly as he could before locking eyes with Trace. Fear gripped Trace's heart as if Zane wrapped a ribbon around and it began to squeeze. Zane smiled. His eyes revealed his intent to kill the young eevee. Fortunately for the guards and the shackles around him, that wasn't going to happen today.
Zane wasn't getting out anytime soon. Or so Trace hoped.
Once he was taken away the temple was quiet except for a few whispers among those around him.
King Asta continued his speech and the sylveons seemed to come around, most started tk support his decision.
After the next week passed, the ambassadors to the alliance decided it was time to head home and rest for awhile after traveling long distances.
Once they departed they were seen off by both royal families of the kingdoms. Queen Tara was especially saddened her parents didn't want to stay longer but she understood all too well they wanted to get home before anything else happened.
To Trace, the good-bye felt hastened and a bit awkward. Though the walk home wasn't hastened, but completely full of awkward moments. Especially the times Trace was constantly watched by any of his family or a random guard. Even his bathroom breaks he was kept under close guard.
The sylveons sent a few guards to make sure they would get through the territory without any problems.
As soon as the group went through to the leafeon territory, the alliance members rested on the other side, not going towards the leafeon royal palace.
Coral, who was a bit sick from staying in the cold glaceon territory, was the main reason they kept having to rest. Though a other alliance members had some colds as well.
Luckily the few flareons who came along kept the group warm with the fires they lit along the rests.
Whenever it was Jayce II turn to watch Trace, he wouldn't speak to him at all. The dislike for his little brother seemed to increase dramatically the last few weeks. Only thing that seemed to calm the jolteon's anger was the newly appointed ambassador of the glaceons, Rarity.
She came along to make sure the glaceons had someone as a representative in the alliance. Though the trip through the leafeon territory seemed to bother her little, Jayce II always seemed to check on her whenever he wasn't guarding Trace.
Han would take over at times and things were less awkward, but he would constantly get a stern talking from his older brother.
Unless Han mentioned a certain eevee that Trace had a crush on which Han knew.
"So what are you going to do when you see her again? Finally ask her out?" Asked Han.
Trace who was eating choked some on his snack before looking up in surprise that his brother would ask that.
"What do you mean?! Me and Serenity are only friends!" He said blushing.
"Uh huh. Sure you are. Considering you both snuggle up close whenever stories are told during our trips to the theater. Or what about those times we went to the dance and you two wouldn't leave each others side?" Han said teasingly.
"Not funny!" Said Trace trying to chow down on his apple.
The group began moving once again and after a few weeks they began to make it back home. The large group split off with Trace's family and Rarity being the only ones walking to his parents house.
The house was made from a hill which was dug up by vaporeon and jolteon excavation teams.
The location was beautiful with a lake behind the newly made home and was envied by many royal family members who visited the location.
Waiting at the front of the home was several house workers who kept the place tidy when the ambassadors were away, and a orange and white colored eevee who upon seeing the group charged forward.
No one stopped the eevee from running towards Trace. In fact, everyone moved several feet away knowing all too well what was about to happen, since it happened several times now whenever this eevee showed up.
Trace had not been paying attention. When he did notice he was walking alone, he looked back at his family before realizing what was happening.
He made an attempt to move and run away, but the eevee was faster.
"Ah!" He cried out as he was knocked onto his back and pinned to the ground.
"You are too easy to beat Trace." Said the eevee who leaned down and kissed his cheek. "I win again!"
"Serenity! Why do you always do this?" Asked Trace wiping his cheek.
"Because I can you dork." Said Serenity giggling as she sat on him.
Jayce was the first to walk up to the two eevees.
"Serenity, unfortunately Trace is going to be grounded for awhile." He said looking at his son.
"What did he do this time? Can I be his guard? I promise he won't leave my sight!" Said Serenity saluting Jayce.
This was rewarded by a smile from the jolteon. He looked at Coral who nodded. She was feeling a bit better now and walked next to her husband.
"I think our son won't be getting into any trouble with her around. Of course we can send Han with them if you feel like they need to be watched." She said placing her head under his.
Jayce took a moment before looking back at Han.
"Think you are up to the task?" He asked.
Han smiled and nodded.
"I'll make sure she doesn't drown him in kisses or break his fragile bones." Said Han smiling down at Trace.
"Not funny Han!" Said Trace who felt another kiss on his cheek. "Serenity!"
"What? I missed you." She said giving him a hurt look by lowering one ear to the side and tilting her head as she gave him a pouty face.
"Not the face, not the face.." he tried to look away, but Han made him look up.
Trace sighed in defeat.
"Okay.. I missed you too." He said before giving her cheek a kiss.
This caught everyone including Serenity off guard who fell to her side and rolled onto her feet bouncing around.
"He missed me, he missed me! And now he even kissed me!" She said in a sing song way.
This made Trace cover his face as everyone walked past him.
"Don't be too long Trace. We will have dinner soon, so invite Serenity over." Said Coral.
"Yes mom." Said Trace who stood up and shook himself.
Serenity bounded over to him.
"Hey, hey! Guess what? We have so much to catch up on! I got some things I need to tell you!" She said excitedly.
"I have some stories for you as well. If you like to go for a walk with me in the park." He offered his paw to her.
She took it with hers and blushed.
"Oh I love hearing about your stories! Let's go!" She said as they began to walk together after letting their paws down.
Han shook his head and smiled as he walked behind, listening to what the two had to say as he thought of his own love waiting for him. Perhaps these two would be okay by themselves for a bit as he snuck off at the park knowing where his mate was waiting as he was sure Serenity being at his old family home wasn't a coincidence.
