Chapter 2

" Leave her alone! " Toby commanded holding a kitchen knife in both hands shaking violently and pointing at Todd.

Todd looked at the boy over his shoulder. His right hand still gripping a razor on the neck of Lovett.

"Look at you. " he said as he dropped Lovett on the ground. She falls coughing from the tight grip of Todd.

" Toby? " Lovett mumbled. Her voice too low and weak for anyone to hear.

" You couldn't kill a man, boy, can't you? " he grinned evilly as he slowly walked towards Toby.

" I'll do what I have to do, sir. " Toby said his body almost shaking and his voice fearful.

" Oh will you now? Do it, then. " Todd smirked at him.

Toby slowly raised the knife closer to Todd as Todd stood there with no sign of fear.

But the boy dropped the knife panting. He couldn't do it.

" I knew you couldn't do it. " Todd glared before he slit the boy's throat bringing a line of blood on Todd's own vest. The boy struggles to stop the bleeding as he kept pressure on it violently. He fell harshly back first.

" Toby. " Lovett gasped slightly still a bit breathless. She ran to the dying body.

"I'm sorry. It's alright. It's gonna be alright. " she said placing his head carefully on her lap. Her dress was bloody but she didn't care.

Toby struggled to breathe. He was still bleeding a lot.

Nothing's gonna harm you,
Not while I'm around

Toby's eyes flickered and then slowly closed as he released his last heartbeat and exhaled his last breath. His hands softly dropped.

Nellie closed her eyes causing a tear to fall. She sniffled slightly.

" He's dead, ya liar. " Todd said coldly walking towards the two. He took the body away from Lovett and dragged it to the oven.

" I'll burn the bodies. You clean my shop upstairs. " Todd said with a groan as he threw the body.

Lovett growled and screamed as she gripped Todd's vest harshly and angrily. She pinned him on a wall.

" You! You monster! You killed him! How could you?! " she banged his chest repeatedly and wildly.

Todd growled and held her wrists painfully. She softly whimpered and started to sob.

" He was young. He was too young. So young. He didn't do anything. " Lovett murmured.

Todd took her neck and pinned her this time harshly. Lovett gasped and held his wrist with both hands.

" Mr. Todd, please. Please. Don't hurt me. " she struggled to escape his grip.

" Bitch! You are even lucky,too lucky that I don't get to kill you! Now shut that hole in your face or you won't see daylight tomorrow. " Todd warned and released her.

Lovett panted and held her neck softly. Todd scoffed and went back to the bodies.

Lovett stares out of the open for a few seconds then headed to the kitchen grabbing a pale and pouring some water in it. She took a towel and went upstairs.

She entered the shop hearing the bell ring. She placed her equipments on the floor and looked up. She gasped in shock seeing all the blood.

" That man really had done a bloody task 'ere. " Lovett told herself hands on her hips. She then took the wet towel and starts cleaning up.

Todd finished tossing some bodies into the oven. He exhaled exhausted. He went to the last body. It was Lucy.

He softly kneeled down to her and placed her on his lap.

There was a barber and his wife
And she was beautiful
A foolish barber and his wife
She was his reason and his life
And she was beautiful
And she was virtuous
And he was-

Todd couldn't finish. He took a good last look on his wife's dead body and carefully carried it in bridal style.

Before he threw it, he looked at her and took a strand of hair from her face. He smiled slightly.

" We will see each other again, my love. Soon. In another time. "

A single tear fell from his eye and dropped on her cheek. He sniffed and threw it.

He watched as the fire burnt her body slowly and softly.

" Soon. "
