Chapter 13

Nellie was washing the dishes when Sweeney arrived. She glanced at him. " Morning, dear. How was job hunting? " she said. " Well, the money wasn't enough to open a shop. I didn't find any. "he said when he took off his jacket and placed it on the sofa. " Hmm. " she said when she was still busy washing.

Sweeney approached her and grabbed her waist. He started to place small kisses on her neck.

" Sweeney, not now. " she said fastly and pulled away. " I wasn't going to, Pet. " he said when he whispered on her ear. Nellie glanced at him and looked down. She was blushing. Sweeney just raised an eyebrow and backed up.

" Have you eaten breakfast, dear? " she changed the subject when she was almost done. She didn't want talking about that right now. " Yes." he said and started folding his jacket. " Oh " she was finally done. " Is something wrong? " he asked when he looked at her.

" No. Nothing. " she then started walking to the fireplace. " Nellie, do you want to go for a swim? "he asked. They had been living in a beach this whole time and they never got even one swim. Nellie wanted to live by the sea in the first place. That's why he moved them here.

"Well, a swim wouldn't hurt. " she smiled at him and headed to her bedroom.

Sweeney and Nellie were finally ready for their first swim. It's been a few weeks since they moved there. Both of them were wearing their swimsuits.

Sweeney was the first one to dip his body in the water and then Nellie. She was pretty nervous. She doesn't really know how to swim. It was a Wednesday morning around 11:00. It wasn't that sunny at that time. Nellie stopped when the water was on top of her chest.

" Oh. The water is pretty cold. " she shivered. She turned to Sweeney and he wasn't there. Where could he be? " Sweeney? " she called out for him before two hands dragged her down.

She went up again and caught her breath. She was all wet now. She saw Sweeney in front of her, laughing. " Ya devil! " she yelled at him and attacked him by hitting his chest then swam away. It didn't hurt.

" Where are ya going? " Sweeney asked when giggling in his words. " Away From you! I'm all wet. I could've drowned! " she said when she continued swimming away. She couldn't hear Sweeney anymore.

" Alright. Now you won't talk to me anymore? " she said and turned around. Sweeney was nowhere to be found again. " Sweeney? I'm not kidding. Where are you? " she wasn't joking anymore and she wasn't in the mood for his jokes. She was starting to get worried. " Sweeney? " she called out. He still didn't come out.

Suddenly, she fell deep in the water. It was around two feet higher than her height. She tried to go up but she doesn't know how to swim. She was already suffocating.

Sweeney finally went out of the water. He was just holding his breath underwater and playing with Nellie, wanting to know what her expression is right now. He laughed.

" I really got you! " he said before he noticed that he couldn't find her anywhere. " Nellie? " he called for her. Still no answer.

" Nellie! Stop fooling around! " Still no sign of her. There couldn't be a way that she would hold her breath that long. She doesn't even know how to swim. He was really worried right now.

So, he went underwater and looked for her. He began to swim towards the place where he saw her last. He noticed that the sea was growing deeper. So, he swam until he saw her laying on the sand, unconscious. He immediately took her up.

He finally got up with Nellie in his arms. He caught his breath and looked for any sign of her breathing. " Nellie? Nellie! " he yelled her name and shook her. She still was closing her eyes. He took her to shore by carrying her in bridal style.
