No One's POV

Lonely Mountain

Thorin and the companions, now gathered in the treasure lair. Thorin ordered everyone to search for the Arkenstone, and not to stop until the jewel is found. Christine didn't care about the sand blasted jewel, she knew how it would effect Thorin, and she sat down. Her mind filled with troubled thoughts, and pondering how to stop Thorin from succumbing into the sickness. So far, no one had found the Arkenstone, and Thorin called out to the others to abandon the search for a little while, and rest.  Bilbo approaches Christine. "Christine, can I talk to you alone please?" asked the hobbit. "Of course." said Christine, standing up, and they walked away from the others, far enough where no one could hear them. "Christine, I have a confession to make. They will never find it, because I have the Arkenstone. And I'm not planning to return it. This is the only way of saving Thorin. The Raven has informed Thorin today that the dragon is killed, and an army of men and elves are making camp at the base of the Mountain, led by Bard and Thranduil.  I was wondering, if you would join me in givng the Arkenstone to Bard?" asked Bilbo.

This had placed Christine in a tight spot. She loved Thorin with all her heart, and the thought of betraying him, would kill her. But she knew it was the only way to snap him out of his spell, and she could see Bilbo's point there. "That is a good idea, Bilbo. And I will help you. Meet me outside at the Front Gate at midnight. And we'll go from there." said Christine. Bilbo nodded. "You know, your father will be proud of you." said the hobbit smiling. "Thank you, Bilbo." said Christine. "You're welcome. "Bilbo, Christine! I have something for you!" called out Thorin. Christine turned around. She gasped in amazement. She saw Thorin no longer in his old clothes that was given to him from Lake town. Now he was dressed in a black leather tunic, silver chain mail and a mithril belt.  She couldn't believe how handsome he looked in his new clothing, her heart raced.  Christine and Bilbo approached them. Thorin gives Bilbo a mithril chain shirt. "Go ahead put it on!" said Thorin. Bilbo smiled, and he put the shirt on, underneath his clothes. "Wow, Bilbo. You look like a young prince!" smiled Christine. Bilbo blushed.  "Thank you, Thorin." said Bilbo. "That will be your reward for helping us. We would've hadn't made it here without you, and the daughters of Gandalf." said Thorin, and the two hugged. Now this is the Thorin she knew and loved.  But deep down inside her, she knew this moment will not last. Thorin turned to Christine.

"Christine, I have a few things I want to give you. But first.." began Thorin, and to Christine's surprise, Thorin knelt before her. "Christine, daughter of Tharkun, will you marry me, become my wife and Queen?" asked Thorin, and in his hand, he held a beautiful diamond engagement ring. Christine's heart raced. She had expected Thorin to ask her eventually for the proposal. And she knew by the time they arrived here, he would ask her. Christine smiled. "Yes, I will marry you!" said Christine. Thorin smiled, slipping the ring on Christine's left finger. Christine wrapped her arms around Thorin's neck, and they kissed. "I love you, Thorin." Christine whispered to him. "I love you too, my azuygal!" whispered Thorin, holding Christine close to his chest.  "There's somebody coming at the front gate!" called out Dwalin. "Who is it? It better not be the elves and men!" scowled Thorin.  Suddenly, Fili, Kili, Felicity, Oin and Bofur entered. "FELICITY!" cried out Mary Anne and Christine together, and they ran to her hugging her. "We thought we lost you. I thought we would never see you again!" wept Christine. "Thanks to Tauriel, she took us to safety.  She found a tunnel in the cellar of the guest home that leads to the outskirts of Mirkwood." said Felicity. Christine and Mary Anne turned to Fili and Kili and hugged them, and afterwards Bofur and Oin.

"We was so worried that the dragon had taken your lives." whispere Christine. Thorin approached them. "I am glad to see all of you back and safe. Fili, Kili, come here." said Thorin. "No." said Kili hotly. Thorin's eyes widened. Wondering why Kili had told him no. "Kili, we should talk." said Thorin gently. "I have nothing to say to you, Uncle. You just take your damn gold and shove it where the sun don't frikken SHINE!" roared Kili angrily.  The words stunned the entire company, even Christine and her sisters. "You weren't raised to back talk me, boy!" snarled Thorin. "I have a reason to back talk you! You hurt my feelings, Uncle! You showed me that you didn't even care about my feelings! You don't understand--you really don't!" yelled Kili, tears streaming down his face, and he turned away. "Of course I understand, Kili." said Thorin softly. "No, you don't! I heard what you said to Fili. 'Someday you will be King, you'll understand'! What's that suppsoed to mean? Are you showing favoritisim, Uncle?" blasted Kili.  The words stunned Thorin. "Once the battle is over, I'm returning to the Blue Mountains and live with mother. I don't want no part of this. I don't want to be an heir of Throne. And I don't want to be with you!" barked Kili, and he walked away, and he sat alone. Christine knew this was coming eventually.
