Christine's POV
I dreaded this moment as we stood, facing Bard and Thranduil. Thorin exchanged heated words with both the man and elf, as I watched everything transpire. Suddenly, it came when Bard held up the Arkenstone, showing it to Thorin. "How came you by this?" barked Thorin. Bilbo looked at me. "One of us have to say something." hissed Bilbo. I closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. "Thorin, Bilbo and I gave him the Arkenstone. Bilbo had it the whole time, and we both made an agreement to take it to him." I confessed to Thorin. And if looks would kill, Thorin's glare at me and Bilbo would definitely kill us both. "You traitors! And you, Christine! Why/! Why are you doing this to me?!" screamed Thorin. "To save your ass, Thorin Oakenshield, that's why Bilbo and I done it it! We're looking out for you! We only done what's best for you!" I yelled. Suddenly, Thorin reached for me grabbing my shoulders roughly, shaking me. "I cannot believe I'm marrying a traitorous witch! I wished I never met or laid eyes on you, or that furball hobbit!! Get off my mountain, I wish to never see you both again!" barked Thorin, as he shook me. Gandalf stepped foward. "Release her, Thorin Oakenshield!" snapped my father, as he glared at Thorin. Thorin shoved me to the ground. Thorin turned away from me.
"I'm betrayed." said Thorin softly. Tears streaming down my face as I watched him, feeling my heart breaking. I don't think I could handle this. To see my relationship with Thorin fall apart before my eyes. Fili and Kili stepped foward, now standing in front of me. "Uncle Thorin, they are trying save you! Unfortunately it seems like they are too late. You are behond saving now!! Now you're gone, and you will forget all about us, and those who really love you!" snapped Fili. "Are you taking their side, Fili?!" yelled Thorin. "We're not taking sides, Uncle. We're stating the facts. Gold and treasure cannot be more important than family. Family and Friendship is more important than gold in our book!" stated FIli. "Great, now my own kin has turned on me!" screamed Thorin. "Thorin, calm down. Come to your senses!" barked Balin. "NO!! Those who oppose me, leave my mountain NOW! That goes for you, Fili, Kili and Balin!" shouted Thorin. Balin's eyes widened. "No..don't do this,Thorin.." whispered Balin, tears streaming down his face. I couldn't take this anymore. I had to do something.
"I think its time for me to fly." I shouted, climbing on top of the Mountain's ledge. "Christine, what are you doing?" asked Felicity. "I'm going to fly." said Christine. "Yeah, to your death!! Don't do this Chris! Its wrong, he's not worth it!" shouted Felicity. Thorin stood there. First glaring at Felicity, and then looking at me. "You cannot stop me, Felicity." I said gravely. "To hell I can!" barked Felicity, and she grabbed me, pulling me down from the Mountain's ledge. "Bard, King Thranduil, I suggest you should go. Gandalf, you stay here and help us with Christine. Thorin, leave us. The last thing she needs right now is for you to upset her more!" said Balin, glaring darkly at Thorin. "What about the Arkenstone?!" shouted Thorin. "Forget about that confounded stone, Uncle! A human life is a little more important, don't you think?!" barked Kili hotly. "Thorin, you stay out here and think things over. Come lads, lets get Christine inside and calm her down." said Balin.
No One's POV:
Balin and the others took a screaming Christine inside the Mountain, and taking her up to her and Thorin's temporary bed quarters. "Lay her on the bed gently. Oin bring some water and a wet cloth." said Balin. Oin nodded, and left the room. Christine still screamed, tears streaming down her face, as Felicity and Mary sat on the bed, comforting their older sister. Balin stood there, his heart aching as he watched everything falling apart. FIli and Kili not talking to their Uncle, Thorin rejecting and banishing Bilbo and Christine. Balin thought to himself things have to change now. But it is difficult. He would talk to Thorin, but he know that Thorin already fully succumbed into the gold sickness, talking to the dwarf would be like talking to a brick wall. Balin sighed, and he looked out the window. Where have we gone wrong? Balin thought. An hour later, Christine drifted off into sleep. Gandalf arrived to check up on his oldest daughter.
