Dying Bliss

It was the middle of the night when I was awaken by the sound of a big group of men marching towards my mansion. This part of the forest is abandoned, who the hell could be walking through it in the middle of the night?

"It's here!" I could hear a distant and familiar voice before the footsteps sounded closer.
Oh shit, it's the army.
"Naruto, Naruto! Wake up!"
"Huh?" He opened his eyes, blurred by the sudden disturbance, he rubbed his eyes while I carried him and place him into the closet.
"Stay here, and don't move." Before I could slide shut the closet he grabbed my wrist, "Wait don't go out there, stay here with me."

"Don't be scared. I'll be back." I held his hand which was cling on to my wrist.

"I'm scared for you, Sasuke. They are looking for me. They'll kill you instantly!" He grabbed my hands, pulling me in.

"No, if we both stay in here, they will end up searching the entire house and we'll get caught anyway." I debated.

"Fine, then let me be the one to face them!"

"I can't, they'll bring you back for sure."

"I won't let them."
He gave me a hard pull into the closet, he abruptly dashed out of my reach and out of the door.
"Wait, Naruto!!"

Without carefully thinking, I chased after him down the stairs. "Don't follow me! You'll die." Uzumaki stopped in his tracks at the bottom of the stairs.

"I won't." Only my eyes could assure him, nothing else will.

The king's soldiers barged in the front door and immediately spotted the Prince.
"The man is right!" The General was overjoyed to see the prince safe and sound.
From the top of the stairs, the familiar voice was Sai, his clothes turned and tattered and face bruised and bleeding. The river strong current almost killed him. I knew I should have been the one to kill him. That was another crucial mistake. He looked at me from the first floor, expression mocking me.

He pointed straight at me, directing all the soldiers attention, "And there's the kidnapper."

They all drew their guns.
"Wait, wait!" Naruto blocked their line of fire.

He regain his composure and calmly spoke, "I believe all of this is a misunderstanding. He's no kidnapper."

He took his final step down the stairs, "I was simply too bored in that kingdom. I wanted to be free, so I came to live with my only friend."

"But Prince Naruto, your friend is a highly wanted man. And he is extremely dangerous." The commander replied.

The smart prince then advanced towards the general, "Thank you for finding me, but I wasn't in any need of rescuing. "

The king's army was left in shock. All looking at their general for his command.

The commander bowed in respect to the prince, "Yes, your highness. But I'm afraid it's the king's order to bring you back to the kingdom."

The prince nodded, understanding his father's order. "But can Sasuke Uchiha return with me?"

Before the head of the troop could answer, Sai interrupted, "Of course not! Didn't you hear?! He is a highly wanted criminal!"

"How dare you speak to The Prince in that manner!" The general yelled in return as the guards brought him out of the mansion. It was my expression that was mocking him now.

"Im sorry, Your highness. I cannot bring a criminal into our pure kingdom." He knelt down and sincerely apologized.

In other words, I am just a stain. I am filth. And Naruto is everything pure and holy.

"Hmfp. Don't bother." I folded my arms. If I agreed to go to the kingdom, they would only lock me up in the prisoner tower and it would be no where near Naruto's tower.

I noticed some guards were still pointing their guns at me.
The only choice right now for me is to escape.
Without Naruto.
If not I'll be locked up away from him forever.

The puzzled prince turned behind to look at me before turning back to the army as if deciding.

Yes, he can still decide right now. If he wants to escape with me or return to the palace.

And I really hope he chooses me.
