It was a week after the intrusion. Ino was sent back to her kingdom immediately after the incident. And as for my dear friend, Sakura Haruno, even though we do not contact as often anymore, she visits the kingdom frequently to catch up with Naruto and I. I told her all about the happenings, she seemed so shocked and infuriated. Like, Tsunade, she was still furious, I could hear her roaring from the floors above Naruto and I. We were both on his bed, in the place I first laid my eyes on him. And I'm so glad that I did.
Naruto Uzumaki changed my life. He changed me into a different man, a man with feelings and sympathy. Though, I am weaker, but I am happy. He made me let go of my horrible past and my revenge. He made me see life in a different way.
I was happier, much much happier.
"Hey, Naruto." I whispered to him, with the boy's head lying on my chest, he turned upwards to me. "What is it?" He asked. The balcony doors were open, the breeze was flowing through softly. The warm sunlight seeping through these sheer curtains, landing perfectly onto Prince Naruto's face as his eyes glistened while they met mine. "I've got a surprise for you." My hand shoved into my pocket, searching through for something. As I pulled it out, Naruto quickly sat up curiously and excitedly.
"What is it, what is it?" He cheered and clapped as he looked into my hands. Those big, blue and beautiful eyes widen in disbelief as he gasped. "My..my.. Ring." He mumbled as if in trance. In my palm, laid his precious ring. "But-..but how..?" He asked, astonished.
"When he jumped out of the window that night, I went down to inspect his fall. There was no impact. But I did managed to find this on the ground." I smiled to him, helping him to slide on the ring as if we were getting married.
Though, we can never get married, I was happy just staying by his side and protecting him and his kingdom.
"Thank you.. Thank you so much, Sasuke." He hugged me, overjoyed.
I should be the one thanking him. He helped me let go of my past, and as soon as I did, I never seen shadows or hallucinations of my parents. Neither did I see Itachi ever again. He just disappeared. I guess it's better this way.
I returned his embrace. "I love you, .Naruto. And I promised to keep you safe forever, and I will." I kissed his ring on his finger delicately before I looked up at him, his cheeks flushed pink. "Promise me too." I requested. Prince Naruto raised his brow, "Promise you? Promise you what?"
"Promise me you'll let me stay by your side forever to protect you-" I continued. ".. And love you."
Naruto looked even more flustered after hearing such a promise he had to make. But nodded silently anyway. "I promise."
"Good." I inched closer to him, to finally kiss him.
Maybe villains have a happy ending after all.
Till death do us apart.
The end.
