"Did you know he was the one that hired me to get your ring?" I shot back.

And it seemed to have wounded him.

Naruto was astonished. And he looked speechless. "He-he did..?"
He calmly sat on my bed, "But why would he?" He asked, puzzled.
I came over to his side and put my arms around him, "You can't just trust everyone, Naruto."

His head rested on my shoulder and he asked tiredly, "Then.. Can I trust you, Sasuke?"
I pat his head, "Of course you can."

And with that, he fell asleep. He hasn't learned anything from me. How could you ask somebody if you can trust them? And how can you fall asleep like this? If he wasn't a heavily guarded prince, I bet he would have died.

Well.. Maybe I'm just paranoid. I grew up like this. To never trust anyone. My perspective of the world is dangerous and evil. But maybe his perspective isn't.

I set Naruto down and laid beside him. I wondered what the hell Sai was doing. But while my mind was wondering, my body wouldn't bear to leave the side of the prince.

The morning came, and prince Naruto was the first thing I saw when my eyes opened up. It was better than a dream, for once, I look forward to waking up than to fall asleep.
Ever since I stole Naruto into my life, my life has been so much brighter. I've never felt alone, and I never wish to, ever again.

But why him?

I appreciated some time with him before I finally got up to check on Sai. He was leaning against the main door, trying hard not to fall asleep.

"Trying to escape?" I walked towards him and alerted Sai.

"Heh. Why would I? I could spend time with the prince here."

I punched him. Oh how much I longed to do that. It felt good.

"Naruto won't be here to save your ass all the time, you know?" And I punched him again. He attempted to return the punch, I dodged and hit him again. He laughed, "When Naruto sees this bruises, you're dead."

"You'll be dead first." I whacked him again and he pushed me off. I slammed my fists against his face and he reached out to get a grasp of my neck. As I put my foot against his stomach, and wanting to kick him off me, Naruto screamed from the second floor.

We both looked up, and caught Naruto's glare. "What are you two imbeciles doing?!"

Shit.

We both separated and blamed each other. When he was at the first floor, and the bruises on Sai's face caught his attention, he was so mad he didn't even say a word. The prince just grabbed the asshole's wrist and stormed off.

Shit. Shit.

I chased after them and caught the door in the nick of time before it closed. "Naruto, you can't be in a room with him!"

"But I don't want to see you!" He tried pushing the door close but he was no match for me. Just then, Sai used his strength and body weight to shut the door as well. This isn't good. I might not be able to hold it.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

I was losing. The door was an inch to closing. And it finally slammed shut. I lost. I gritted my teeth in anger, as I clenched my fist and slammed them against the door. "Listen to me, Naruto!"

And it was complete silence.

I sat against the door and waited.
Any screams from Naruto and I'm barging in. I waited for the prince to calm down.

I just waited. The minutes felt like eternity. My fists unconsciously clenched again and I bashed the floor. Attempting to release some anger.

When my patience was finally at it's limit, I knocked on the door.
"Naruto?"

There was no reply. My heart began to pound rapidly.

"Naruto?" I knocked twice.

Still no reply.

"Naruto? Naruto!" I knocked harder.

And when I was only left in silence, I barged in. I was greeted by an empty room. In the corner, there was a broken down wall, just nice to fit a human through. Dammit dammit! Sai must have created something to break down the wall last night. Why did this happen? This isn't suppose to happen.

I would never make a mistake. This crucial.
Fuck, Naruto! What the hell are you doing to me?
I've never been so careless and stupid.

I looked through the hole, it was the second floor, Naruto wouldn't have been injured. I dashed out the door and through the forest, looking for footprints or blood.

The birds away flew in a certain direction and I went to the direction they flew from. I scanned through the trees before I heard a twig snapped.

I followed where the sound came from and pushed the bushes aside. And i caught a glimpse of Sai above Naruto. I bolted to them and kicked Sai off the sobbing prince.
I gave Sai another kick in his gut before I knocked him out.

I squatted beside the sobbing prince, "What happened? Did he hurt you?"

"He tried to take my ring. Forcefully." He continued to whimper.

I was relieved. "It's okay, I'm here now." I carried him. And dragged Sai along.
"Sasuke.. Don't bring him along.. Can you just dispose of him, please?"

"Sure." I grabbed Sai's neck.

"No, no!" The prince held my arms. "Not like that!" He continued.

I sighed, "Alright." I dropped him off in the forest's river flowing away from the town and pray that the current will bring him to somewhere unknown.

We returned to my mansion. The prince did not mutter anything about his freedom and he came back quietly with me. I placed him down on his bed, and deciding to give him some time to rest on his own. As soon as I took one step away from him, he grabbed my wrist.

"Sorry, Sasuke."
