"What are you doing?" she snapped at him.
"It's just like old times right?" he said pointing off the boat.
Blake rolled her eyes remembering. "The captain says we'll be at Menagerie in twenty minutes." she told him.
He smiled and his gaze fell upon his beloved. "I just realized something."
"What?"
He crept closer to her and carefully placed his burly arms around her waist. Then with a quiet whisper in her ear, he said, "This ship isn't the only thing carrying precious cargo."
Her face turned red and she threw his hands off of her. "I wouldn't have to hear this if you'd only kept your hands to yourself in the first place," she muttered.
"Menagerie! Ten minutes!" the crew yelled from the top deck.
Blake sighed and rested her arms on the railing. She looked out to the sea for answers. Anything at all would aid her long journey.
"Do you ever regret things?"
Blake looked up. "Yes, Sun, all the time."
Sun looked up at her like she was crazy.
"Do you regret this? Even though I think it's a chance to start over?"
She averted her eyes away from his gaze.
"I fell pretty hard for you. Am I not supposed to fall in love with you? Because it's happening all over again and I love every minute of it."
"Sun, I just need space. I do love you too, but I can't comprehend what's happening."
His tail dropped and his eyes became fixated on the ocean again. He wanted to tell her this was a gift, but she wasn't ready. At all. And once the crew announced they were there, they could walk off into the faunas paradise.
But Blake walked slow. Like she couldn't bring herself to face her parents. She knew her mother would be ecstatic, but her father? She didn't want to face that thought.
The streets were lined with vendors and several types of faunas buying what they were selling. Just like old times. But this wasn't old times. This was now. And Blake's only thought was getting to survive almost a year of misery.
She trudged along the dirt road; sighing and displaying her anxiety all over her face. And when they got to the door of the Belladonna palace, she shed a single tear.
And at that exact moment, Sun felt a sudden urge to hold her hand. And he did. But he didn't tell her the heads up. So his lips collided with hers, and she didn't fight back. She gave in knowing she had no chance of winning.
After parting, he asked her, "Ready?"
And she nodded nervously.
He picked up the golden ring and smashed it against the rough wooden door. It was her mother who answered right away.
"Blake? And Sun!" she said smiling. She embraced the two in a hug and hugged Blake longer.
All she could think to say was, "Careful,"
"Careful? Are you hurt? What-"
"We'll explain, Mom,"
Kali nodded, getting an idea, and allowed her daughter along with her son-in-law in the mansion. They passed her father's office down the hallway, and she brought them into the same room they drank tea in.
A female guard guarding Blake's room bowed to her and allowed entry across the hallway into the room. They sat down as they waited for her father to appear.
When he entered, he sat by his wife and eyed his daughter. Blake hid her face, and as silence crept in, Sun found courage to bring up the beginning of the topic.
"Mr. Belladonna, do you remember how I asked for your blessing around five months ago?"
"You mean begged?"
"Well, I um, took it with relief and caution of course! But, recently, we um, I-"
Blake could tell he was nervous. Her father was extremely intimidating, but how could you casually explain to your father you were pregnant?
"Dad," she started cutting Sun off. "What he's trying to say is, that we're going to be parents."
"Parents?"
Blake reached over and gently tapped his shoulder. Sun looked up and his golden smile appeared.
"That's what I said glad it's over with." Blake said getting up.
"Is that why your wardrobe has become less revealing?" her mother asked.
Blake blushed and covered herself. "N-No! I just wanted to have a change of outfits is all," she yelled than muttered.
"You're pr-"
"Don't use the word. I'm not used to it yet."
Her voice was like a sharp whisper. Her point was made though she wasn't entirely happy. And with that being said, she turned for the doorway. Dragging her partner with her.
Her father stopped her.
"Congratulations you're grandparents! What else do you want?" she snapped.
Kali's eyes filled with tears as she hugged her daughter. "Thank you for coming back Blake. We're excited and we hope you'll be too."
Ghira faced Sun. "Take care of her and that child. You hear?"
He swallowed and with a shaky nervous, "Yes sir," he sealed the deal.
"Blake, would you two like to stay a while? I bet you're tired and hungry."
Sun was in on it.
"Fine. Two days! That's it."
"Alright two days," he replied back with his flashy smile.
It even made her smirk as she saw him drink gallons of the tea and gobble down the food. Blake just sighed and entered her room leaving him there. The room was dark, and when the light turned on, she collapsed onto the bed and heaved a heavy sigh. Her head spun and she was drowsy. She gently flipped the fan switch on and laid on the bed thinking.
And for some odd reason, her usual thought train wasn't running straight today. She remembered vivid childhood memories and old times with the team. Happy times. Not like what she was exposed to three years ago. She was a young adult with new responsibilities. And a job to uphold. But even through the tragedies that occasionally grasped at her mind, she could find a small spark of hope lying in the dust.
And as her eyes grew heavy, she thought of two things. The golden sun and the silver moon. And the two names that crept into her head softly, replayed over and over again.
The title names of a boy named Raye, and a girl named Wisp. Names she'd never forget. As one appeared in the nearest year.
