"Shh. Don't fight it,"

The girl placed down her hands and watched as a white glyph appeared before her. Her crystal eyes lit up as she tried to catch it.

"Ooh," she said looking up.

Winter smiled and lightly tapped her head. "Hurry up and finish. Father will want us back soon. He doesn't like it when we use the glyph."

Following her lead back to the main manor, she gently glided past all the plants in the garden; frosting them lightly at the tips. Making her stride inside the manor, she watched as her older sister moved past her and opened a door for the child to enter. Inside was their father casually speaking to a businessman over the scroll in his right hand. His other hand was occupied by a thin ball-point pen he tapped over stationary.

"Yes sir. I know, sir." he said over the scroll.

Winter's hands were shaking as her father hung up on the man after their conversation.

"What? I was very busy you two,"

"I apologize for the sudden intrusion, but Weiss and I were looking for mother."

His eyes flared at the mention of her.

"Check the garden. If she's not there, then check the nursery. She says Whitley is being a pain. Not my problem though,"

"But he's your son too-"

"Winter, take Weiss and leave my presence."

His sharp tone shook Winter as she tightly grabbed Weiss's hand and dragged her out of there.

"It's my turn," she mumbled.

It's my turn? Turn for what? Weiss thought to herself.

A few years later she understood when Winter left for the Atlesian military.

She had trained Weiss for the worst of life. And now all she had to do was rebel and grow up. All while the lies her family made came around underneath her.

She was on a diamond pedestal her whole life. Treated like a manipulative fragile doll. But that heart she kept locked in ice crumbled with freedom as the fire.

She left. Like Winter did. And how she'd live in freedom.

"Psst! Weiss. She's doing it again,"

She turns over facing her husband as they lay in their bed. Rochelle starts fussing usually at one in the morning, so Weiss makes a routine schedule to fix the situation and put her back to sleep.

She rolls out of bed gathering the bed sheets with her which makes Neptune antsy, and she groans and rolls it back on top of him.

She wears her robe over her silky white nightgown. She pulls the slippers onto her feet, and makes her way across the hall.

In their own private chambers, even her cries amplify through the glassy walls. Weiss walks across the hall getting her eyes to adjust to the dim light on the side.

As she turns the knob, she sees Rochelle sleeping(ish) and starts to fidget with the lock on the crib side. The mobile above her doesn't do much for soothing her to rest, but acts as a device for annoyance in a young mother's path.

She picks the toddler up and cradles her in her arms, feeling her fragile body gradually heat up to her own. She stands for five minutes rocking her daughter and reassuring her.

When she sets her down, she starts to sleep, but immediately begins fussing again. Weiss smacks her forehead and returns to the crib.

She picks Rochelle up again, and this time brings her with her; one hand free.

She closes the door behind her, and Rochelle starts pulling at Weiss's long smooth hair.

Rochelle tosses on her shoulder and as Weiss brings her to the bed, she crawls off to find her own place to sleep. Rochelle makes a path to her father and about gives him a heart attack when something crawls on him.

Neptune gets up and looks down at his daughter smirking at him and trying to play with him. He chuckles and holds her tight, allowing her to lay on his chest.

Weiss smiles and cracks her back as she snuggles back into the bed with her family. This is now. That was then.

Life goes on. ~It's my turn!~

"Woah! Is it the middle of March already? Seems like just yesterday I proposed an idea for a RWBY fanfic and made the first the flash back. This is a story of how I think Qrow is Ruby's dad (confirmed or not it's the fandom's opinion) and how his and Summer's choices and decisions affected Ruby, Yang, and led up to their lives. This chapter was short, but I just wanted to touch base on Rochelle, Weiss, and Neptune's side. I've had the pleasure of creating these next gen characters and their stories, and it's been a good ride! I've made it past 1.5k views with everybody's help. If you'd like to ask questions, please do! I always reply to comments from my dear readers. Thank you for making Lucky Petals possible, and my transition from Kat Suiren went fine seeing as Riri Hoseki is back in action. Be expecting a sequel!

~ yours truly, and forever the RWBY fanfic enthusiast and extraordinaire,
Riri "14 edgy losers" Hoseki. XD good luck! <3
