Levin's POV

(AU)

I woke up to the usual black and white surroundings. I sighed as I got up to start another day of selling. I adjusted my white eye patch that's over my right eye and my sling holds my arm that I broke a couple weeks ago. I was the first one up like always since I like to try and be one of the first ones to get my papes. I got ready and and put on my vest as I looked outside to continue to see black and white. Everyone sees in black and white until you've touched your soulmate then you see the world in color. I hurried out the door before the rest of the newsies woke up. I'm very anxious so I try and avoid most of the newsies except for Crutchie who is like a brother to me. I walked out of the lodging house and made my way down the street.

I gathered my papes and walked over to my selling spot. I looked around and could tell who found their soulmate and who hasn't. People who have found the one are cheerful and happy while the ones who haven't are glum. I tried to hold my papes with my broken arm while waving a pape in the air yelling out headlines. I dropped a few papes and groaned as I bent down and picked them up one by one. Suddenly my and hit another and everything changed. Everything started to gain color as I looked up to meet face to face with Racetrack the one I have had the biggest crush on for awhile. Race and I looked at each other in shock then looked around to see how beautiful everything was with color.

"I-It's you" I managed to say as I looked back at Racetrack.

"Who would have thought the guy Ise had a crush on was my soulmate" Race said barely above a whisper as he looked at me in awe. I could feel my cheeks heat up as he said that.

"Y-you're blushing" He said with a smile as he continued to look at me in awe.

"Ise can't believe it" I said still in shocked as I examined him. He had gorgeous blue eyes and amazing dirty blonde hair. 

"Ise can't either... w-will yous be mine?" Race asked as his eyes never left mine. I felt my smile grow even wider and he asked the question I never thought I would hear.

"Of course" I say causing his smile to grow wider as well.

"Ise so glad you're my soulmate" He said as he pulled me into a hug. 

"Me too" I said as I smiled finally knowing how other people feel when they find their soulmate.
