"So, yesterday was a blur really. So, let's start over." Tony said, sitting in the same seat as he had on the previous day, talking to Chad or at least trying to since Chad has not had the best day... or best week. "Let's get to know each other." Tony said."Why?" Chad asked furrowing his arched eyebrows.
"Because you can't really help someone when you don't know them well enough to know their strengths and weaknesses." Tony answered looking at Chad with a 'puppy eyes' as Chad would say.
"Are you going to help me get better at english or are you supposed to be my psychologist?" Chad asked with a tempting smile, even though he did like the way Tony was coming forward with this idea.
Tony chuckled before starting to introduce himself, which seemed to be the only way in which Chad would accept it.
"So, my name is Tony Padilla and I like driving." Tony said as Chad's lips turned into a smirk, staying silent for a moment before proceeding to his introduction.
"Hello Tony Padilla who likes driving, I'm Chad Beaumont who likes to sleep and dream about a whole new world where I'm a better version of myself." Chad said making himself chuckle.
"But you are the best version of yourself." Tony said, not finding the last phrase any entertaining, scared that he could be having a deja vu.
Chad's face fell as he dropped down into his seat and the table fell silent.
"Forget it." Chad said letting out a sigh. "Let's do english, which is what we came here to do." Chad said bringing out his notebook as Tony stood looking at Chad's every movements.
"Wait, wait. We're not starting until we fully know each other." Tony said with a dead serious face as Chad let out yet another sigh.
"Well, I don't know about you but I'd consider myself a pretty interesting guy so if that would be the case then we would have to stay here for a really long time." Chad said as the smirk came back.
"Then so be it." Tony said relaxing into his seat, this time both boys with a smile on their faces.
"Fine." Chad said and both boys started to question each other, things that became much more interesting as time went on and both boys didn't mind staying there a bit longer because they were enjoying this moment.
"Favourite colour?" Tony asked, pretty simple.
"Uhm - Beige." Chad answered, Tony letting out a laugh. "What?" Chad asked finding Tony's laugh pretty contagious.
"Beige, seriously of all colours?" Tony asked, too loud that it hadn't even crossed his mind that he was in a public library.
"Yes - It's really underrated actually plus I'm very protective of minorities." Chad smiled. "What's yours?" He asked.
"Blue." Tony answered, this time the laugh came from the other side of the table.
"Wow - Great sense of originality." Chad said and before they knew it they began laughing throughout the whole session talking about the meaning of human life.
Until they realised how long they had been in that table talking about topics and forgetting about the main reason they were there for in the first place.
"Well - I will see you on monday." Chad spoke, picking up his bag already with all his unused books inside before an idea came to his head and he turned around facing Tony who was still packing up his stuff.
"Actually, since we're in this whole 'get to know each other to help' kind of thing, we could have lunch on Sunday, if you're free of course." Chad said grabbing the other boy's attention who smiled at the thought.
"Yeah - sure I'm free." Tony spoke with his heart jumping inside of him.
"I'll text you though just - we still have to decide where we are going and if anything changes just inform me so that I don't - yeah." Chad said smiling at himself before walking out the library door.
Leaving Tony but this time in a more happier mood then ever before.
Chad finally arrived home, excited to tell his mom that he had somewhere to go and that he wouldn't be staying home locked in his room doing nothing like he had for the past few weeks.
He walked inside and the warm feeling hit Chad's body like a huge wind, he felt safe and happy at the same time and nothing could destroy this day and nothing would.
"Mom?" Chad called out and quickly enough his mom engulfed the boy in a tight hug.
"Hi, honey! How was your day today?" His mom asked almost as excited as her son but she was always like that so it wasn't a surprise for the youngest Beaumont.
"It was alright, the first half of the day was horrible but then it finished of - better then I thought." Chad said giving his mom a genuine bright smile.
"I'm glad." His mom smiled. "But inform me what happened that totally changed your mood?" Helena Beaumont asked while walking to the kitchen as Chad started helping out his mom baking a cake as they always had a cake for desert on Fridays.
"Well -" Chad started, not really knowing how to answer that in one simple phrase without his mom thinking he is going crazy. "I think I just got a new friend." Chad smiled as his mom did the same just by seeing his happy smile, relieved that he was the same old happy son.
Chad noticed his phone vibrate inside his pocket as Chad muttered an 'excuse me' to his mother.
He pulled the phone out of his pocket and looked at the bright notification that appeared right away in the screen of his phone from his messages.
UNKNOWN:
Heyy. Tony here.
Chad smiled at the text message before quickly replying and going back to helping his mother cook.
Life seemed to finally be looking up to Chad, again.
