Mid-day

Tae: have u told ur mum yet?

                              Gukie: working on it.

Jeongguk texts back, nervously biting his lip, and shaking his leg, sounds of utensils rattling against a plate could be heard across from him, on the dining table he sat on.

In his full view, his nagging mother sits on the chair across from him. They never have dinner together. But this night was different, Jeongguk had something planned. Taehyung had been asking him to do it all day. It was to ask for her blessing, asking if it was okay to be in a relationship with Taehyung. Even though Jeongguk didn't care if she said no or yes. He was still going to be with Taehyung. But he had to at least try.

He knew she wouldn't be okay with it, so he already had a plan in action, he didn't want to have to sneak around and hide his relationship all his life.

Jeongguk switches off his phone, putting it into his pocket and resting his elbows on the table looking at his mother who was eating away at the creamy pasta on her plate.

"How's the pasta, mum?" Jeongguk asks, raising his eyebrows. He figured if he made her dinner, it would soften her up a bit, before he asked her.

She doesn't respond, shrugging her shoulders, as she twisted the long creamy pasta on her fork and placed it in her mouth gently, not sparing Jeongguk one glance.

He exhales through his nostrils, pursing his lips together as he looked around for something to talk about before he did anything. He was also waiting for her to say a series of words.

Her eyes travel up to look at her quiet son, who sat there doing nothing. She knew something might of been up since he usually doesn't spend long amounts of time with her, if he wasn't occupied.

Finally thinking of something to bring up, "So, have you got your report card yet?" His mother questions casually, continuing to eat.

"Yes." Jeongguk says in a monotone, eyeing out his mother with a straight face and zero emotion, tightly gripping onto the sides of his leather chair.

A few minutes of silence and no talking, leads to Jeongguk's mum to stop what she was doing completely, and look up at Jeongguk with judging, impatient eyes.

"So?... Where is it?" She bursts quite loudly, Jeongguk was testing her patience, not even flinching at her outburst.

Jeongguk doesn't speak, while staring at his mum, he digs into his pocket, pulling out a white sheet of paper, that was his report card, like he knew she would ask for it.

Holding the paper in between his thumb and index, Jeongguk reaches over the dining table to hand it to his mother.

She reaches out to take it from Jeongguk's hand, holding into the edge, trying to take it out of his hand.

But he wouldn't budge, he held onto the paper as hard as his fingers could take, not letting his mother take it.

"What are you doing? Give me it, Jeongguk." She snaps, trying to pull it out of his hands with all her might.
