chapter two

I was really surprised, the guy apologized and l gave him a small nod then he left. I went to the washroom and scarlet followed me behind.
"Hey babe happy birth.. OMG what happened to you?" Scarlet asked with wide eyes.
"Just some guy knocked me over and to think I left home angry" I said while cleaning my shirt now it was good.
"Wait, why were you angry it's your birthday?" Scarlet asked
"Why wouldn't I be when my own mother forgot about my birthday?"
"Oh" was all she said before turning to leave.
"What do you mean by 'oh'?" I asked her then she froze on her spot.
"Um well y-you k-know just wanted to go back to work" by now she had already started sweating."no wait why don't you hang out with me today?" Scarlet asked scratching the back of head, I could tell that she was really nervous about something but I was too angry to find out so I just shrugged it off.
"OK" I said clasping my hands together. "Soo where to?"
With that we left after scarlet took the day off.

AT THE SPA

"Ooh this is so good" Scarlet said, we were currently getting a massage, I couldn't help but Stare at my friend she was beautiful, she had long black hair which almost reached her waist,she was tall, slim, not too skinny though, because she loves to eat a lot. I smiled but that smile died down when I remembered how my family forgot about my birthday, I mean who those that?.
I'm finally 18 today and they do this to me? I sighed and closed my eyes to forget about everything, Scarlet brought me here to make me feel better and here I am ruining it.
"So how about some brunch?" I asked her, With that her eyes jotted open and she squealed excitedly. We got up and got changed then we went to a nice Italian restaurant, I saw the looks on her face which had that 'I don't have enough money' face I told her it was OK that it was on me.
We ate in silence, a comfortable one though then I looked up from my plate to see her starring at our surroundings, I haven't brought her here before.
Sometimes I admire my friend a lot she had to work so that she would be able to finish school, I wanted to help her pay her fees but my dear friend wouldn't let me, so instead I just help her with other small things, 'down to earth' right? I know, my mom always told me that I'm good with every person I meet, I don't care whether you are rich or poor, I just find the good in you and that's it.
And that's how we spent the rest of our day, going to our favorite places, ate lunch, don't look at me scarlet was hungry again.
It was already evening when we were done.
"Hey let's go to your house" Scarlet suggested, after receiving a message from her phone in which she replied.
" why" I asked her with a frown on my face.
"You know you look cute when you frown. Now let's go" was all she said before she dragged me to my car. Then the driver drove us home, since I don't have a license yet but I will make sure to get one tomorrow.

AT THE WILLIAMS'S MANSION

Home, suddenly I don't feel like going inside, but that's not my worry right now, I have been trying to call my boyfriend Jason but he was out of reach, even he didn't wish me a happy birthday, what was wrong with everyone today?
I turned to scarlet who had already got down from the car and made her way to me. She took my hand in her's in which I gave her a questioning look and she just smiled at me. We made our way inside which was dark, l know they can't be sleeping by now it's just passed seven.
Mom would always wait for me till I got back home but today nothing, may be she has forgotten about me. I sighed and was about to go upstairs to my room when the lights was turned on and I met with a lot of people who were screaming a 'happy birthday' to me.
I was stunned for some seconds then a smile grew on my lips, l covered my mouth with my palms and turned to look at Scarlet who was just smiling sheepishly at me. 'she knew about it' I thought, my eyes widen when I saw Jason standing there to smirking at me 'he was in this too?' then my mom made her way to me grinning from ear to ear and asked how do you like my surprise honey?
