chapter forty two

ROSE'S POV

" Rose, you can't do this to us. Where will I and my mother go?" Gary pleaded as soon as we reached home. I sat on the chair and sighed, he stood in front of me now, his mom was still standing at the door.

" Gary for the nth time, I'm not going back on my words. I'm done with this relationship, just get out of my life!" I yelled at him, his mom came in and knelt down in front of me, with her crocodile tears, I rolled my eyes inwardly at her, seriously that isn't going to work.

My parents owned the house, but they died a long time ago, that was before I met Gary and his Mom. So after we got married, they  decided that we should live in my patent's house. I protested at first but they both persuaded me into it so I agreed. Its has been like hell living with them for more than twenty years now, I can't take it anymore, they have to go. If I don't do this now then it might be too late for me.

" mom please, all this crying won't change my mind. I'm not asking for much, just leave my house! " I said to her as calmly as possible

" my child please why do you want to do this to us? Where will me and your husband go? You know he doesn't have a job, how will we survive? Please my dear, please reconsider? " she pleaded, leaving me in tears.

It has been so long that she called me her child, or that she considered me her son's wife. Now that they have nowhere to go, she finally remembered those words. This only made me more upset with them, I'm more angry at myself for what I'm about to do. I hated the fact that no matter what I still consider them as my family, and I very much still love my husband. Whatever it is that happened they are still my family. I stood up,

" OK fine! " I said and their heads jerked to my direction, " I will only forgive the both of you if you both promise never to disrespect, abuse or even insult me ever again! " I said while pointing my finger at them, Gary's eyes looked relieved, he wiped  his tears away

" yes, yes of course! You have no idea how sorry I am for all the pain I've caused you. You were so good to me and my mom, you made our life to have more meaning to it, you tolerated a lot from the both of us that I mistook that tolerance for your weakness. I'm sorry for all that I've done to you, to our daughter, to our family. Thank you for forgiving us, thank you so much. " he apologized, he was apologizing, he sounded so sincere, all I wanted to do was to tell him that I forgave him, that I forgave the both or them.

But no, I can't be weak now, I have to remain strong and let them know that I'm not that weak Rose that they both once knew. I gathered myself together, I looked from the mother to her son

" and who gave you that idea that I've forgiven the both you?" I said and he looked at his mother, his eyebrow a little creased, " I will only forgive you as soon as i see a sign of change in you, right now I see nothing but a facade " I said to him while gesturing my hand at him.

I don't have a problem with his mom anymore, I know I can keep her in her place. What I want now is to have a responsible husband, so he definitely has to change. Yes in my heart I've forgiven him but I'm not letting him know that, at least not now

" I don't under-" he was saying but I cut him off

" I mean you have to go get a job and I mean a real one, only then I'll know that you've really change for the better" I said, taking him by surprise. He looked at me for a while before he spoke

" OK Rose I'll do it, I'll do anything for you to forgive me, I'll ask for your forgiveness everyday of my-" I cut him off again

" one minute Gary! I didn't say that you could live here. I'm sorry but you can't stay here, your mom can but you can't. You can only come back once you've gotten a job. Good night!" I said and went to my room, not letting him say another word. I believe he has changed, and I'm only doing this for his own good, he can see me as a bad person now, but I know that he will thank me for this one day.
