chapter seven

" hahaha! OK Emily, that was hilarious " Mrs Robert said, we are in the living room now, Emily sat at the right side of the couch along with Mrs Roberts, Lisa is nowhere to be seen.
Me and Jason sat at the middle bigger couch, his hand was around my neck, pulling me closer to him as if I would disappear if he let go, I was more at ease with that, and his dad sat at the other couch.

" you bet it was " Emily replied, OK if she wanted to irritate me well it was working, but I expected no less from her, ' typical Emily' I rolled my eyes at that.

" I have no idea about what they were talking about" Jason whispered in my ears, I giggled a little at least I'm not the only one who is bored with their conversion.

" Same here" I whispered looking at him, he was already staring at me, we were like that for a while, then he leaned closer to kiss me, suddenly someone cleared their throat I backed away but he didn't let me go.

I turned to look at Emily glaring at me, the room was silent now, my eyes flickered to Mrs Roberts, she just turned to stare at her nails, my eyes traveled to Mr Roberts and he looked..amused, I blushed.

" Son at least consider the fact that we are right here ok " Mrs Roberts said, Jason just gave a blank look, he was about to speak when his mom cut him off.

" So Emily tell me how come you are no longer together with my son? I mean you two were so close back then right" she said the last part while looking at me, wanting me to get the message, which I clearly did. Is there any hope that this woman will ever like me?

" oh well Aunt, I don't know about you but I was sure that Jason and I had a thing but what could I do now? She is my little sister so why not let her have my used toys?" Emily said all in one go, like I wasn't there, it hurts I could feel my eyes starting to water which I blinked rapidly so they won't fall.

I smiled, I could see what they were trying to do here but I won't give them that chance, never. Mom always told me that when you know that someone is trying so hard to get in your head, don't give them the opportunity to know that it affects you because it will only make them stronger and you weaker.

" mom! That's enough, both of you " Jason yelled, he removed his hand around me in the process, it was now I noticed Lisa standing beside her mom, she also had a smirk on, ' wow! I never thought that anyone would hate me apart from Emily, it made me wonder what she must have told them about me.

" come Ari, let me give you a tour around the house" Jason said and stood up, I also got up and we went inside, but not before hearing Mr Roberts scold his wife of how disappointed he is with her. At least one member likes me.

We went home an hour later, I'm currently outside now with Jason, as soon as we reached, Emily jumped out of the car and stumped inside, yelling at all the servants on her way ' poor servants '

" Ari I'm really sorry about tonight" Jason said sighing, he looked upset, that crushed me, so I gave him a reassuring smile that I was OK.

" don't beat yourself about it, you stood up for me and that's something, thank you" I said to him and hugged him, he hugged me back, we later said our good night and I went inside but not before we kissed.

TWO MONTHS LATER

SCARLET'S POV

" I can't believe I'm getting married today, I'm so excited " Ari exclaimed happily, I couldn't help but smile she is so happy today, we are currently in her room, I'm already dressed up, her mom is just smiling, it had been a busy two months, ever since Jason declared the wedding in two months, both families had been busy getting prepared since then.

Since no one was paying attention to me, I went into deep thoughts about all of the things happening, I mean I'm happy that she found the love of her life but everything is happening so fast I can't even blink. Ari should have waited for at least few months more, she is so blinded by love that she couldn't even object to what he wants and this is scaring me to the core.

What if Jason takes advantage of her love for him, I hope not cause I will be right there to put him in his place. I can't help but to feel scared because I feel that Jason is not the man for her, my dream felt so real I couldn't be mistaken, he looked like a Greek God, he was very handsome, nothing like Jason, he puts the rest of the men out there to shame. I can't help but feel that something would go wrong today, I hope everything turns out OK. I sighed.

" Earth to Scarlet! " Ari said making me jump out of my thoughts, I must look really nervous right now, wow! She has already put on her gown, she looked breathtaking.

" Yes? Wow! You look beautiful Ari " I told her, she smiled and thanked me then gave me a quizzical look.

" is everything OK? And why are you sweating so much?" She asked me by now all eyes were on me.

" Me? Sweating? Oh it's nothing " I said, touching my forehead.

" ha ha ha! Oh my God Scarlet, you are not the one getting married and yet you are so nervous? " Mrs Williams said laughing, and I rolled my eyes at that, just then she received a phone call and went out, it's just me and Ari now.

" hey, are you sure this is what you want to do? I mean are you happy? Don't forget that you are taking a huge step in your life" I told her and yet again she just stared at me blankly.

" Scarlet for the hundredth time yes, yes I'm sure " she said putting both of her hands on my shoulder, she looked beautiful.

" OK fine, I guess I'm just overeating " I said casually.

" yes you are, pretty much" just then Mrs Williams walked in with Emily behind her.' What is she doing here? We will never know.

"Hey honey we are going to the Church now, the limo will be here in a while, till then.. " she was cut off by who else but..Emily. Oh if only she knew how much I hate her.

" Who said I was going with you mom? You carry on and I'll go with Ari after all we are her bride's maid" Emily said and I tell you right now that I don't like where this is going, because I can still much remember all the drama that was putted on before she finally agreed to be one of the bride's maid, the rest were some of our college friends, they are already at the venue.

" Yeah, sure you can. No problem, mom, you and dad go ahead, OK?" Ari said happily, I can't believe she agreed to this, I know she wants everything to be OK between her and Emily but that's not going to happen, Emily will never change...never.
With that Mrs Williams left, and Emily kept typing on her phone, I'll have to keep an eye on her.

EMILY'S POV

To say that I was pissed off would be an understatement, after what me and Mrs Roberts did that night two months ago, Jason had been avoiding me. Like seriously? Who does he think he is?
Because I love him doesn't mean that he would treat me like shit.

I went to his penthouse multiple times but he wasn't there, I also went to his office, because he started working as soon as we graduated, he was avoiding me. I didn't see him for almost two weeks and when I finally did, it was at the park i had followed him there, i was wondering what he was doing there? But then then it hit me, he had noticed me following him, it happened in the evening and was about to rain, so I decided to confront him that evening.
