Day P.O.V. (Before the thing at Pascao's house)
"Are you seriously going to do this?" Pascao asks me over the phone. I'm in the bathroom talking to him while June is over in her room, probably getting ready I don't know.
"Why not?" I ask.
"Well, I don't know. It just seems so crazy."
"I know. But she was upset and I just started saying words and next thing I know I'm in this whole mess." I say quietly. I hear June's door close. "I have to go." This is going to be quite an awkward first kiss.
"Good luck." And with that sour tone, the line goes dead.
Sunday
"Hi." June says as she walks through the door.
"Hey, Tess isn't here yet but we can still annoy Eden." I say.
"Perfect." She says. My mom walks in the room.
"You didn't ask me if you could have a guest Daniel. You're really starting to get out of control." June smiles and laughs lightly. If it makes her smile.
"Sorry Mom." I say hanging my head in in mock shame.
"You better be, and June! I expected this from my son but not from you."
"Sorry Grace." June says and she hangs her head as well, "You guys know I'm totally kidding, right? June, you can come over whenever you'd like." She perks up at this and nods.
"When's Tess supposed to be coming over here?" I ask.
"Not until six. You guys have like four hours." June groans.
"Why did you tell me to come over at two then Day?" June asks, quite aggravated.
"Because I'm bored. Want to go watch a movie?" I ask, Maybe I just wanted to see the girl I'm crazy about. But she doesn't need to know that.
"We just watched a movie yesterday. Can we go to the beach?"
"Sure. But in case you're forgetting, We'll have to walk a few blocks" I say. My family definitely doesn't have as much money as hers.
"Of course. I don't mind." She says. Of course she doesn't. "Let me go change." She also has a room here. But it's actually just our regular guest room that she put a chest of her things in.
"Okay. Mom! We're going to the beach!" I yell.
"Okay." She says.
I run upstairs and change into my swim clothes. I grab my phone and run back down to the kitchen where June is sitting on her phone at one of the bar stools. She looks gorgeous as usual.
"You ready to go?" I ask. She nods and picks up a towel off of the counter.
"I didn't have any shoes so I kinda stole your mom's sandals." She says, "But it's okay because I asked her." I roll my eyes and laugh. Does she honestly think that I care about my mom's shoes?
The beach is beautiful. I wish I could see it from my house but I feel like just being here is amazing.
"I'm hungry." June complains,
"You Want to get snow cones before we go back to my house?" I ask.
"Sure." She says as she stands up from the sand.
"What flavor?" The guy behind the Counter asks.
"Do you by any chance have, cool ranch?" June asks. I laugh. It's our oldest inside joke and I honestly can't remember where it came from.
