June P.O.V.
Prom? My ring reads. I don't really have anything to do this morning but at 2 this afternoon Mia, Charlotte, and Jennifer will be coming over. Mia got asked by her boyfriend Joseph and Charlotte is going with Eric.
Jennifer, well she's going with this guy Trent. He seems alright but none of us know him. He's a senior and we never met him until she introduced us last week.
I play with my ring and it seems as though the more I spin it around my finger the more anxious I become.
So for tonight I'm wearing a lace sort of what you'd call a beige color dress that goes to the floor with silver heels.
I walk up to Mia's house with my dress and shoes in my arms. Jennifer's car is already here and Charlotte should be here soon if she didn't already come with Jennifer. I walk in knowing that they'll already be busy.
"June! You're late." Mia says.
"Only five minutes. I'm sorry." I say.
"Just go get in your dress." She says showing me into the bathroom. I pull it on and decide it best to save the shoes for later.
I walk out to see all of my friends with their dresses. Jennifer is in blue, Mia in red, and Charlotte in a light purple.
"You guys look amazing." I say.
"So do you." Charlotte says. The others nod.
"Let's go. I have an appointment for us to get our hair done in fifteen minutes and then my aunt, she's a makeup artist, will be here when we get back." Mia says.
We all walk out and get into Mia's car.
"How do you want your hair done?" My stylist asks me. "Do you always leave your hair like that?" She asks referring to my ponytail.
"Yeah. Pretty much." I say.
"Well then I'm not putting it up. Take it down please." She says. I pull the hair tie out and push it on my wrist.
It takes about two hours for my hair to be done since it's so thick. "Perfect." The girl says handing me a mirror so I can see the back.
I have it all curled. It's got a few pieces pulled back on either side into the center of the back of my head.
We all leave and go back to Mia's. Her aunt is sitting in the living room when we walk in.
"Hey girls. I remember most of you from all the homecomings that I've helped with." She says. "But who is this?" She asks motioning to me.
Those words sound rude but she managed to say them in a way that seemed really nice.
"This is June. We just became friends a few months ago." Mia says. Her aunt smiles at me.
"Jennifer I'm going to do yours first." She says.
"Sure." Jennifer says.
"You're so tall." Mia's aunt says walking over to the bathroom, Where I'm assuming she has her makeup, with her. Jennifer turns back to face us and rolls her eyes.
"I know."
After a few hours we've all had our makeup done and it's almost time to leave. We are going to go take pictures on the beach behind my house.
My makeup consists of a light brown sparkly eyeshadow, a brown lipstick and winged eyeliner. She also put fake eyelashes on me. I hate fake eyelashes.
We all walk outside and get in the car.
My parents are standing at the kitchen counter when we all walkin. "June," Mia says. I turn back. "Do you want to go outside now to take a few pictures?"
