Day P.O.V.

"Goodbye everyone!!" June yells.

We walk out the door and get into my car.

"Hey June." I say.

"What?"

"Why do you think your dad is so mad at us?"

"I think he's scared of losing me. Metias didn't come home this year and he doesn't Want to lose the both of us."

"Yeah. But that's different. Isn't it?"

"I don't know. I mean he's just trying to keep me safe by doing this I guess. And he thinks he's already lost Metias. He just doesn't realize that there's always Christmas."

"Yeah. We're going to my mom's mom's place." I say.

We walk into my grandma's house and I let go of June's hand. I have to tell my other grandma.

June talks with everyone while I try to find my grandma. I see her sitting at the kitchen table.

I walk back over to June. "Can we go say hi to my grandma?" I whisper.

"Sure." She says turning around. We walk over to the couch and sit on it.

"Daniel!" My grandma exclaims.

"Grandma!" I say hugging her. She seems happy that June is here.

"Can I trust you kept your promise?" She asks.

"Uh actually yeah. I did." I say.

"Then would you like to reintroduce this beautiful young woman sitting next to you?"

"This is my girlfriend June." I say, June Smiles.

"Hi again Mrs. Wing." June says, "Hi June." She says smiling.

"Thank you grandma." I say gratefully. She smiles.

"I just wish this could've happened when I was in high school. I couldn't bear to see what happened to me happen to you."

"I love you Grandma. Happy Thanksgiving!"

"You too. Now, I have to go say hi to some of the relatives. Haven't seen them in so long." She says walking away.

"What promises was she talking about?" June asks.

I pull her arm lightly and take her outside. "She's the one who convinced me to finally tell you the truth."

"Well, thank you to her then." June says pulling me toward the swing. We both sit down.

"I love you." I say to June. She smiles. I feel as if every time I say it it means Inore to me. As long as I'm saying it to her it'll always mean everything. Because she means everything.

"I love you too." She says leaning her head on my shoulder.

"We should probably be going inside..." I say.

"I know." She says hesitantly.

We walk back inside the house. My Grandma is setting the silverware and
everyone else is bringing the plates and food.

June and I each grab some plates and bring them to the table.

"Hey Daniel." My other Grandma says.

"Hey Grandma. Happy Thanksgiving!"

"You too. Hi June." They've all met June before. Just not as my girlfriend.

"Hi!" June says happily.

"I heard the news. I'm so happy for you. Glad to see you finally got over that Carrie girl." Grandma. She turns June and says "Did you hear she stole Eden's train?"
June laughs. Why does everyone care so much about Eden's train?

"How could she?" June asks pretending to be really shocked.

"Okay okay I get it I shouldn't have dated Carrie. I was in fourth grade. Get over it." I say.

We all sit down at the table and pray over the food.

"Amen." Everyone says. They all let go of each other's hands but June and mine remain attached beneath the table. We both awkwardly eat with only one hand.

I'm holding June's left hand, which is a good thing because she's right handed. I'm ambidextrous and usually prefer my right hand but I'm fine.

June and I offer to help with the dishes as soon as We are done eating.

"Thanks for the Offer but I'll be file." My Grandma says, "Taylor offered to help." We nod.

"I just realized." June says, "What's wrong?" I ask.

"We never made plans to go Black Friday shopping this year." She says, We always go Black Friday shopping. Since we were in about the sixth grade. It's much better now that we can go without our parents.

"We should probably go if that's okay with you. Like we could stay another half hour? It's a half hour drive back." June says,

"Whatever you want." I say grabbing her hand.

••••••

We are pulling into June's driveway and she's asleep in the passenger seat.

I put the car in park and she opens her eyes slowly.

"Hey Day." She says.

"What?"

"Before we go inside," she sits up and leans over to me. She gently presses her lips to mine and I wrap my arms around her.

She pulls away and smiles at me. "I love you June. I know that that word is overused a lot but I want you to know that I mean it and I could be living on the streets with no money with you and it would be okay. But that if I become
rich someday but lose you I would be miserable."

"That's sweet. I love you Day. I honestly can't see going back to the way I was before. I lasted all these years without telling you because I thought it was what's best for our friendship but I was wrong. I wish I would've realized that."

I peck her lips one more time before we both get out of the car and walk into her house.

"Hello guys, how was your other party?" Nadia asks.

"It was good." I say.

"That's good. June it's time for bed I brought some pajamas for you." Nadia says.

"Day. Go ahead and sleep in June's room. It'll only be tonight. We will be up in a few minutes." June and I run upstairs.

"I'll come in here later so we can leave to go shopping." June says running into the room in her pajamas.

"That's good. Did you ask your parents?"

"Okay so I didn't but remind me later." She says.

"Goodnight. I love you." I smile and wrap my arms around her.

"I love you too."

Her mom stands in the doorway and I let go of June. She pulls back and frowns at me but then looks to her mom.

"Let's go June." She says softly. June nods.

"Goodnight Day." Nadia says as she and June walk away.

I pull out my phone and add a picture of me and June that we took at her house earlier on to snapchat.

Thankful for her <3.

A/N: lol do you know how much I hate when people post things on Snapchat like that? But with them it's okay.
